Go Back to Brooklyn

I've received much heat for my lack of updates, especially in the past month, but I think what I have to say is worth the wait.

Primarily, today is my birthday.

Also, my brother is in the hospital. He has an ailment that I'm not too familiar with, but it deals with his body not taking protein from the foods he eats. He has had the problems for awhile, but it exacerbated Sunday...he turned pale and sick to his stomach.

So today, instead of taking advantage of the one day of the year where I can be selfish, I spent the majority of the day with him and some visiting another sick friend of mine. All in all it was a good day, and ultimately I did the right thing.

My brother will probably be in the hospital for the remainder of the month, so the Blackman family find themselves in a hospital for Christmas 2 out of the past 3 years. However, location matters not, it is the health and presence of family members that make Christmas special. And don't forget the birth of Christ.

School is great, all of my teachers love me for some strangely odd reason. Social life is okay, usually I spend Friday nights destressing from the week. Love life? Let's conspicuously avoid this subject until things get straightened out.

Great moments come from great opportunity. Today my great moment was knowing that I will always try to do what is moral, no matter how great or small the opportunity.

In closing: I hate South Florida sports fans. They are the whole reason why the Marlins got shipped off and probably relocated. My new favorite NL team is the Los Angeles Dodgers, for one reason...Nomar Garciaparra.
