So, this week hasn't been bad. It just seems tiring. Time to read about it...
Monday- Jamie came down to my house in the evening and we went down to Amber's. We hung out with her for a while, then we watched The 40 Year Old Virgin. That movie was really funny...Until you thought it should have ended 30 mintues earlier. It upset me how the movie was cracking me the hell up then just had me begging for it to end. It wasn't a bad time though. It was nice seeing Amber, because it had been a while for both Jmaie and I. We couldn't see the last few mintues of the movie, though. I had to get to Kree's to get dress clothes for the Phantom, then get home.
Tueday- This day has been on our minds for a while...Yes, because it was the Phantom of the Opera's date. Jamie picked John and I up at school and we went back to his house for a short while. Eventually Patterson showed up. After getting into our nice clothes we left to go out for dinner. We ended up going to the Gaslight. This was the first time any of us had been there, and when we walked inside my first thought was "creepy." The light in the resturaunt was dimmed and there were only 2 other people in the whole area who were customers. We all agreed that it felt like a resturaunt straight out of a horror film. The food was good, overall. The only thing that sucked was the salad I got before my meal. It was made with the least effort possible. Half of the pieces of lettuce were as large as my face. My main dish, however, was pretty good.
We left the Gaslight for Pittsburgh. The drive there wasn't bad, it actually went a lot faster than I thought it would have. And we didn't have much difficulty finding the place, so that was good. We got to the Benedome (That could be spelled wrong, I'm not sure) and stood around for a while. Then it was soon time to find out seats.
My seat was in the very last row. I knew before the show had even started that I was going to have difficultly seeing. And when it finally started that was confirmed. Sadly I must say the show disappointed me. I was confused in some of it, because I couldn't see crap. I couldn't tell who was saying what and half the time I had trouble telling who was even singing. Their voices were beautiful, for the most part. They would have been absolutely lovely if they didn't over-do it. They went way overboard with the whole generic opera sound. Their voices rang throghout the theater, but sadly it wasn't always in a good way. After the intermission the sencond half of the show began. From there it seemed to become even less amusing. I acutally almost fell asleep a few times. When it finally ended I almost felt guilty because of the voices in the back of my head screaming "Thank God!"
I met up with Jamie, Patterson, and John when the lights went back up. Theywere all just as displeased. I heard tons of complaints from the three of them...I couldn't disagree with one. Jamie seemed especially pissed. I do not blame him at all though, he has been wanting to see this play for like 6 years now, and has been a huge fan of the broadway soundtrack since then. I felt bad that it didn't live up to his expectations, but I'm planning that we go to see Beauty and the Beast in June. That show is at least 5 times better than that fucking Phantom performance...Bah. I dunno, it was worth seeing, but it wasn't nearly as good as I expected. As I told my mom last night,"Lets put it this way-Pittsburgh's performance of the Phantom of the Opera is terribly overated."
Once again, I hate to say that...But it's unfortunatly true.
We left the theater and walked back to the parking garage. After waiting a little while for all the cars to go in front of us we went to pay. Then we found out you had to have a credit card to pay. How fucking stupid. So, Jamie had to walk back to this stupid building to pay the stupid $5 fee. Grr.. Then we were finally off and back to Mingo to drop John off. We got to John's house and dropped him off. Jamie notcied a cop was sitting at the corner of the street, so he waited for him to pull out. After he did the cop began to go up one of th hills, then Patterson saw the cop's car turn around. Before we knew it the cop was flying up on us, then pulled us over... I knew immidiately why. John lives next door to a drug dealer...So, the cop pulled us over and asked a million questions, anything from "Who was your friend's name you dropped off?", to, "You kids aren't doing any drugs tonight right?"..he said this after comming up to the car and taking a deep breath to try and smell hints of drugs. How slick. His excuse for pulling us over was that Jamie didn't put on his turn signal on the hill...Which he did. I watched him. Anyhow, it was lame and pissed me off. I told John about the story today and he said they did the same thing to his grandma after she dropped something off at his house. Fucking obvious drug dealers. Fucking unobservent (Yeah, that is totally spelled wrong) cops. After this we continued to my house and he dropped me off. Kind of a crazy night.
Today (Wednesday)- I am not doing anything but sitting around here, I think. I may do some practicing of the Music Man songs for the play. I got the entire CD today from Mr Minor and it seems like it will be an entertaining show. I just really hope I can get a decent supporting role. If not, oh well, I'll live.
As of now, I am going go to go. This went on much longer than I planned on. Thanks for reading anyways.
