So I barely survived my 1st year of law school. It's so incredibly easy to compare myself to other students which have acheived more, but the short story is that everyone takes their own path and Rachel and I are extremely happy we hit our one goal: to keep our scholarship. Right now I'm almost done with a summer class (my final is thursday, I got a B+ on the midterm!) and I am volunteering at the Spokane Attorney General's Office. It's been a great summer. I've had time to even work on a new cd and hopefully it will be finished before I go back to school. Probably the best gift that anyone could give me is to actually listen to my new cd...I mean actually listen to it....and tell me what they think, what they like, or what they don't like. In addition, Rachel has started her new job, and loves it! I'm so glad because the last year was extremely difficult for her. It's a big relief to see her smiling again when she come home from work because I love her so much and don't want to see her feel under-appreciated. In the mean time, the track listing for my third cd will probably be:
- Dedication
- These Are The Days
- So Beautiful (hopefully I will complete this, if not, just move every song up 1)
- A Prayer Song
- Autumn
- Forever & Today
- Stay With Me
- No Words
- A Love For The Decades
- Why?
- The Best For Last
- Your Love
- For You, My Dear (Wedding Song)
Whew! What a relief to finally get some of this done. I always live happily by having side projects that help me focus on things other than life goals (law school, etc). Sometime the little side projects are as simple as a model car. But when I start recording music again, and keep recording music, it's always a relief to just finish the CD and get that period of my life and any accompanying music from it finsihed and together so that I can enjoy listening to it. By now I recognize that very little people in my family ever care to listen to my music more than once. That's fine. I know Tim listens to it, which makes me happy. I wish that when I mailed people a cd, that wouldn't listen to it like it came from me. I wish they would listen to it like they just purchased it from the store and actually want to listen to it, rather feeling obligated and tossing it to the side. Oh well, this new stuff it more interesting. In general, I always enjoy recording and listening to it, and I know Rachel does as well. This is the main puprose. Who knows? Maybe one day our future children will enjoy daddy's music as well.
