Yesterday I get a call from my Mom after getting back from class. "Your Dad is in the hospital." O.K. I "overheard" him stressing about something the night before. Turns out the school system fired 2 people and gave the responsibility to my Dad, and the next morning he had to give a presentation to over 400 people. So, he's yelling up a storm by now.

Then my Mom took him in and they looked at what might be wrong. He ended up having to stay overnight so they could monitor him. Turns out he has an 80% blockage of his main artery in his heart. Well....... BAD DAD! My mom told the doctor that he had taken to smoking 2-3 cigars a day and a couple of drinks on top of this. This habit has been going on about 6+ months. The doctor said that has to stop immediately. They ended up doing heart surgery today and they cleared out the blocked artery and put in a stint. This makes 2 stints; 1 he has because of an abnormally small artery and now today's would be the second. He'll be on even heavier medication than he was before. He also needs to lose 40lbs, which we was told to do last spring and hadn't done anything.

See what happens when you don't take care of yourself?! He'll be ok. I almost want him to quit his job though. They put too much pressure on him to do everything and he'll try to do it until he bursts (or ends up in the hospital). This type of behavior reminds me of someone I know. Hmmmmm.

Now, la pedro es inferma. Maggie has been getting the dime-size scabs on her skin. They're really black and all over her body. She now has a total of 4, and that's what the vet and I found just in 1 minute. It's kinda nasty actually. She's not in pain so the vet thinks she just has a skin infection. But, she said that a few cells looked strange. They weren't ruling out cancer but they think that's really not what it is. I take her back next Wednesday and if its not cleared up by then, then she'll get a biopsy done.

Things always happen in 3s.
