On Monday, around 4pm I started feeling sick. At first I thought Lydia just gave me her cold.
Tuesday, feeling worse and my head feels like it's going to explode, but I still go about my day.
Wednesday, feeling even worse, nothing I take has any effect whatsoever and IF there is a little improvement it's only to my nose (for like 10 minutes).
*Past few days (since Monday night) I haven't been sleeping well, like 20min-1hr intervals at a time for 8 hours. Kind of annoying.
Thursday, wake up at 7am and feel like I got hit by a car. By the time 8am rolls around, I can barely breathe. By 10am I drive myself to the doctor's, sans appointment, and they give me a couple shots of antibiotics + 3 perscriptions. (I've had 2 of the 3 before but they are double the strength, aka 250mg to 500mg.) Doc thinks I have pneumonia. She tells me to get my chest xrayed and to drink ALOT.
Around noon, there is no improvement. If anything I know feel like I'm going to throw up (which I did) and I still cannot breathe. Call the doc back, she tells me to come in immediately. I then call my Dad (side note: 2 outta 3 meds have codine/drowsiness effects, so no driving for me) and he rushes home to take me to the doc's. I get there, still on the verge of vomiting again and they push me past everyone and take me into a room (and give me a garbage can to throw up in). They have another shot (double the amount of antibiotics in the first shots) and a steroids shot. That thing f-ind hurt! I was already feeling dizzy when they gave me the second shot, of round 2. I could barely stand so they usher me out in a wheel chair. I tell them I'm gonna be sick again, and this time I got a Target shopping bag. Man, I barely made it out of the parking lot and I got sick. By the time we got to Military I felt exhausted. And, by the time I got home I walked straight to the back bedroom and I was gone till 6pm. I then spent the remaining 2 days asleep, with 1-2 hours awake at random times. After about 1 hour I get tired and go back to bed.
It's Sunday now, and after probably sleeping close to 45-50hrs of the past 60hrs, I'm feeling much better. The nasal spray they gave me is "industrial strength", the cough medicine has the codine in it so that eases my head and back pains (and gives me a nap time roughly at noon or 1pm), and the antibiotics are TERRIBLE! My inhalers are practically empty, I'm out of Singulare so I make sure to keep my nose clear to help breathing.
I'm hoping today I can venture out of the house. Derek said he'll take me to see a movie which sounds nice and not too tiring. Plus, laughter is the best medicine. I also hope to eat something other than crackers today. Everything I've had so far has been "not so much fun in the tummy" and... yeah. Needless to say it makes me just want to eat more crackers.
Also, I now HATE my waterbed and/or pillows. I spent up to Saturday in the guest bedroom and have come to the conclusion... I WANT THAT BED! My Mom seemed thrilled that I finally agreed to it. But, she should thank my back that is throbbing in the morning, it helped with the decision.
Hope everyone is healthy and happy.
Claire: as long as Saturday isn't crappy, I can most definitely go. (My Mom actually said "No" if it's rainy/windy, she's being very motherly towards me and I don't blame her.)
