Jaejoong’s POV:
“Kimi ga inakya mou nidoto kanjinai shiawasette, dou ganbatte mite mo kobore ochita namida wa sugu ni tomaranai~…I’m sorry.” Junsu’s voice broke through the melody.
“Let’s start over!” came the director’s voice from the intercom.
I sighed and flipped back the pages. Through my headphones I can hear Yoochun groan “Are you serious?!” clearly annoyed with being stuck in the recording room for hours, singing the same song that everyone knew he wasn’t in the mood to sing right now.
Junsu takes a sip of water and he too flips back the pages. “Let’s start from the first chorus.” He suggests.
Yoochun playfully glares and nudges him on the side. “Why are you so eager too, way more than usual.”
I watch them as Junsu slips his headphones back on and reply “’Cause I need a distraction.” That simple statement voicing our collective thoughts. Without any further explanation Yoochun understands and backs away.
“I think we all need a distraction.”
I only remembered that the director was listening in the conversation when his voice resounded on the intercom again. “From what?”
It’s a stupid question, but I grimace and reply, “From the fact that we’re incomplete…pieces of our hearts are elsewhere.” As the words left my lips the room held an eerie quiet, the director can’t stand it and breaks it.
“Let’s take 5.”
Without a word I pull off my equipment and leave-I feel suffocated.
Outside the room, I notice no one follows me, so I lean against the wall and try to breathe. When I feel less lightheaded I slip my phone out of my pocket-immediately I find the name of the one I wish to see…to speak to the most…
“Yunho…”

Yunho’s POV
I felt guilty that it was my sour mood that called our dance practice to a close, but I can’t pretend today. I’m tired of pretending that I’m not uneasy, distracted…empty…
I sit in the corner as everyone leaves. Everyone except Changmin, who is still attempting the dance steps. His face is masked with concentration, but I can see through it. I know that he’s attempting to block out his thoughts, the emptiness that we both share.
Without thinking about it I pulled out my phone from my pocket and my finger hovers over the speed dial: #1 Jae.
I want to talk to him immensely…it’s been months since we last spoke, thanks to our restriction. The room is empty…should I take that chance? I mean how long has it been since we laughed together…from our hearts.
“Yunho” His voice resounds in my ear, and I lose my inhibitions. Taking a deep breath, I press the button.

3rd person POV
Jaejoong stared in surprise at the phone screen-the flashing name-the same person he’d been thinking of. His hand shook, as well as his voice…
“Hello?”
“Hey-” his voice is low, I can hear the music in the background better than I can hear him.
“Yunho-leader-ssi, it’s been a long time.”
“I know…I’m sorry-” he whispers now, as he watches Changmin turns off the music and dries off with a towel.
“It’s not your fault-these things…life happens.” He takes a deep breath, “I-we all miss you guys…a lot.”
“I know...” he repeats, those words brought a pain to his heart he didn’t think existed. “I’m sorry…I can’t talk long.” His voice is distant, his focus wavering between Jaejoong and Changmin, who was just staring at him, he knew but he wasn’t saying anything.
“I know..” Jaejoong’s voice breaks through.
“But, I just needed to say,” he stares at Changmin, who wordlessly nods, “We just needed to remind you guys, that even through we’re not beside you…even though we can’t share our pain… [that wherever you are-whoever you’re with…we’ll always have faith that we’ll meet again and share true smiles again]…that even though we’re not beside you-our hearts and souls are still connected. After all, we are Dong Bang Shin Ki, right? The team of dreams-that means everything’s possible, right?”
A tear slips down Jae’s cheeks. “Right.” In the recording room, Yoochun slips his hand into Junsu’s, a simple comfort offered with a smile. Across the sea, Yunho and Changmin share a smile. “Don’t worry, we’re still praying, and keeping the faith.” Jaejoong takes a deep breath, and smiles. “After all, we’re one eternally~”
