from the summer

A Sand County Almanac

a bolt of lightening
awakened
July,

went back to sleep.
this is notably true of lightening.

-flowers and clovers their
accession of rain, we came a great

long spiral scar , a foot wide

very different in style from most of your stuff...

i love that it seems as though a lightning bolt struck this poem- the words are broken about.

why'd you wait til now to post?

it is an erasure of a page of 'a sand county almanac' - maybe should have indicated that

i always felt like erasures were a little 'easy' or not as 'real' as a regular poem.

but i'm starting to second guess that idea

erasures are regular poems just on a scale. Just like in hiphop the important person is the one who edits out the crap. Next time use the dictionary.

in a related problem all I ever write about is birds and mountains.

pfft birds and mountains- what do you think you're "deep" or something? As though you're "one" with nature. You're just dumb. And you win poker sometimes. Write about that!

Hey Matt, I'm Alex, a friend of Francois. Anyway, you may/may not remember me, but we chilled a bit, and I dig ur poetry (saw u read in Brazos) I added you to the blog roll that I have on my new blog because I think more people should read ur poetry. If u mind, tell me, I'll pull it down.

NEway, feel free to read my blog (it's actually a serial novel).
