Character
Name: Tenten
Fandom: Naruto
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Time Period: Chapter 541
Wing Color: Beige with red outlining
History: http://naruto.wikia.com/wiki/Tenten
Personality: Tenten is described in the official databooks - penned by Kishimoto himself - as a die-hard researcher, a busybody, and a woman with the tact of a sledgehammer, and rightfully so. In the brief appearances we get, she's shown to be totally invasive and investigative. In the databooks, it even says investigation is one of her hobbies. This is seen in the anime where Naruto fakes his death, to the knowledge of himself and Neji. Tenten is kept oblivious to the whole situation, and when she sees Naruto alive, she rapidly chews him out furiously saying she doesn't like to kept out of the loop. She's shown to be really good at investigating when she discovers the true purpose of the first Written Chunin Exam test is to gather information without being caught, and Tenten accomplishes this beautifully. Tenten's curious and investigative nature is shown when she comes into contact with a new weapon - her personal passion in life - she focuses on what the weapon can do, who is it from, and generally asks a flood of questions about it.. She's shown to be able to quickly research her opponents - like a true investigator. This is shown in several of her brief battles, like when she was able to deduce that Temari was deflecting her weapons with her fan. She was able to research and discover the true purpose of the Chuunin test, as mentioned earlier. This also demonstrates how Tenten prides herself on being able to quickly gather and share data and knowledge with her team mates, and the level of communication Team Guy has with each other. Tenten is also able to quickly deduce with her curiosity and research skills how to properly use a fan she just received and to fight on par with an akatsuki - an organization that has killed Jonin, who are a rank higher than Tenten. She was also able to research and gather information about her clone when she took her clone on.

The next part of Tenten we need to look at is her nearly rude bluntness. She says what she wants, to who she wants, regardless of the consequences. She repeatedly snarks at Guy and Lee for their sheer embarrassing antics. She keeps a cool head and simply states, “You're not okay at all!” when Guy-sensei himself flies into a tree and knocks himself out. She repeatedly states that both of them are a pain or a bother, or she apologizes for their behavior, as seen during their time in Tsunade's office. She angrily shakes and berates Lee, in a less than sensitive way, when he loses a fight and ends up unconscious when it was vital for him to stay awake and active. She even one time flat out states, “The team (her, Neji, Guy and Lee) sure is good for laughs”. Whenever one of her three boys act up, you can guarantee she'll be snarking her damn best. She's a very critical person to not only her team, but others. This is explored when she asserts herself to Neji's sexist opinion, which shows that, you may be really close with Tenten, but she'll call you out on your faults. She also, when not berating Guy and Lee for … their...eccentricity, she's calling out Naruto, the main protagonist, for coming up with the wonderfully stupid idea of fighting Sasuke alone. She also says flat out states that she dislikes someone, and then states why, as seen when she explains why she dislikes Ranmaru. This is bluntly stated as she says she hates weak and indecisive people who rely on others. If she doesn't like you, she'll tell you. Through-out Tenten's time on Naruto one trait has always remained - her brutal honesty and snarkiness. She says what she means, and she means what she says.

Her balance that she rightfully provides to Team Guy is something very important to her character. She constantly puts up with Neji, Lee and Guy. Lee and Guy are often wild, crazy, unfocused, hot-blooded and easily excitable making them embarrassing pains in the ass to Tenten. Neji doesn't fare better. He's a bit arrogant, rather cold and stoic, frequently used to fight with Lee, and is adamant about himself and his views (even more so when it comes to Guy and Lee). This is where Tenten comes in. She's able to put up with all three of them, and acts as a bridge between Neji and Lee. While she may be rough on Rock Lee and Guy, it's obvious she cares for them immensely. This is show cased thrice. First, when Lee isn't punctual during the Forest of Death and she begins to worry about him. Sure, the response was a bit rough but then again Tenten generally is towards him. When she sees the extent for his injuries when Lee fights Gaara, there is only a panel but it's clear her face is agonized, horrified and despaired at seeing just how damaged he is. Finally, in the end of part one, Tenten is shown to be smiling and giggling as Guy and Lee begin to train to the point where it’s surpassing one of their usual strenuous exercises. In part two, she states that their actions are sometimes invigorating and generally smiles when she’s seen with the team or celebrating one of their antics. Tenten is stated repeatedly, both in the databooks and in canon, to have a neutralizing effect on the team. She keeps Guy and Lee focused, who are enthusiastic about everything to the point where it hinders them at times. This is really seen in how far Lee strays off in Part 1 in the Forest of Death, and how she quickly arrives, shakes and berates him for not keeping focus. Without her, as the databooks state, “The team would not be able to focus or use their abilities to the fullest extent. Tenten is the vital element that keeps them together”. Tenten's calm demeanor in battle (more on that later) allows herself to sift through the team and their bizarre, and wild demeanor. It's stated that every member of Team Guy trusts each other with their life. She consistently dedicates herself to her team, be it putting up with Guy and Lee's crazy antics with passive/snarky resistance long after any person would, or training with Neji and aiding in him the best she can. She gives her team all she has, and that's why she cements them. She complains about the logic behind their crazy antics (yes even Neji she sometimes complains about), but that's part of her character. Neji was absolutely cruel to Lee in every way, he'd demean him verbally, assault him cruelly during battle and generally was a dick. Without Tenten, who while still talking down to Lee, keeping a bridge for them and acting as superglue and a method of contact for Neji, the team would have never been as close as they are now.

Tenten is also shown to be the most sane person in Konoha, really. Compare her to everyone else in Konoha, and Tenten consistently holds herself to be the most logical one. Her decisions are out of logic rather than emotional which is rare in the series. She deduces and chooses her decision carefully (as exemplified with her battle with a filler person, rather than react to his taunts she decided to use wooden weapons to not be effected by his lightning (which was his goal, by making her lose focus with taunting). Her abilities require focus and stability. Tenten has to focus to toss her weapons accurately at her opponents, rather than just randomly throw them everywhere. She needs to retain inner stability to focus herself so she can instantaneously deduce the correct distance to attack and defend with her weaponry, and toss them with exceptional accuracy. With this, we can conclude that Tenten is mostly in control of her emotions. She's a weapon's master after all, so it'd make sense if she was like that outside of battle. In the official personality chart, she was the most grounded which means she's tolerant and focused, with a slight lean towards passion, unlike Guy and Lee who were literally off the charts. This shows that she's a very, very, grounded girl. Other times where she's grounded are mentioned earlier with her brief snarking and then putting up with the team, where someone who wasn't so grounded would fly off the handle at every little thing a person in Team Guy did. Tenten is thankful for Team Guy anyways, she'll sometimes smile at them or snark at them with a more of a pleased look on her face. When she smiles at their antics, she's not totally rolling over and saying, “Let's be like them!!” she's admiring how far they've come and realizing how little credit she's given them. Regardless of her bluntness, she knows when it's best to resign, showing common sense. This is demonstrated when Guy repeatedly grunts to have their hands to be put together. Tenten resists at first, but, obviously annoyed and shamed, puts her hand in. She may put up with the craziness but she usually points out the crazy and then submitting to it because you know there's no way you're going to win an argument with Rock Lee or Guy. Tenten's main role is being the cement that keeps the Team together no matter what. In fact, Tenten wishes she could dedicate even more to the team, as seen with this quote, “The members of Team Guy specialise in close-contact battles so I often render aid from the distance. I don't mind providing back up, but I was hoping to find new ninja tools that would enable me to fight on the front lines.". Tenten is not only fine with providing back-up, but she wishes to fight on the front lines along her comrades. Unlike most of the other people in Naruto that let their emotions get to them, Tenten refuses to let her emotions get to her. She keeps a calm and steady face in battle. This is stated in the databooks that her calmness and her focus allows Team Guy to preform to their optimal efficiency. This makes sense too, considering her abilities. Regardless, Tenten does have a bit of a temper. This is seen when she angrily shakes Lee for losing, slaps Naruto for faking his own death, and angrily bashes her first against a wall when Naruto insists that he fights Sasuke himself (which Tenten was very opposed to allowing) or when a person demonstrates over dependence or weakness (as seen with her interactions with Ranmaru). Her common sense is shown whenever she points out stupid moments of logic, the most recent one being her telling off Naruto for insisting he'll take care of Sasuke on himself. She, along with the Konoha 11, state and decide that Sasuke could lead them into a war. Her acceptance of this decision shows her dedication to realism.

With that sort of support and dedication to the team, one would expect Tenten to be prideful in her teammates and herself! Those expectations are correct. Tenten is prideful in her teammates to the point of stubbornness. She steadily holds Neji to exceptionally high standards, to the point where she thought he was neigh invulnerable. She invariably told Lee and Naruto that they couldn't beat Neji no matter how hard they try. She was later proven wrong by Naruto and began to modify her stance. She does have high confidence in Neji, as seen when she aids him in training after his battle with Naruto, but she now holds him to more grounded and human standards. This is shown once again in the filler arcs whenever Neji did something that Tenten doesn't agree with, she vituperated Neji for his actions or thoughts. She even did this earlier when she upbraided Neji for his sexist opinions. She also has a huge amount of assent in Lee, even before she accepted how far he progressed. Though she didn't outright show it, she censured him for not being able to defeat the Sound Genin saying he shouldn't lose, and her shocked and horrified reaction to the manga to him losing to Gaara really affirms this. Now, she respects him and his skill and has the utmost assurance in him like Neji. This is seen consistently in the Curry Filler Arc - where Tenten is abashed when she sees Lee in exceptional danger. She has confidence in Guy too, as seen when she doesn't bat an eyelash that he unlocked the 6th Chakra gate, which has a detrimental consequence on the user. She doesn't freak out with concern over him, or anything. She knows what he's capable of and his impressive skill level. Despite her confidence and support to her team, as covered earlier, she's not above sarcastically jabbing at them or coldly rolling her eyes whenever they screw up. In fact, it's a necessity, while she has confidence in their skills, she doesn't have confidence that they can act properly and not be over the top and not disturbing. Despite her great faith in them, snarking them and keeping them focused and grounded is necessary because who knows what hot-blooded hijinks they'll get into while she's not watching.

Tenten is also fairly confident in herself! Her favorite quote is “100 marks, 100 bullseyes.” She always enforces that she can't miss, or that she won't lose easily. Her strong-will self-love goes as far as to be totally shocked when Temari totally tosses her weapons away as if they're nothing. She's confident in herself enough to take on a Seven Swordsman of the Mist, while she was just a lone genin. Her confidence is implied with her sheer bluntness, you can't call out your teacher, your teammates, or the main protagonist if you're spineless. You can't declare you want to face a girl who was trained by a powerful ninja, and a girl who has beaten you senseless earlier without confidence. Tenten has a backbone and she has the inner strength to use it. If something doesn't sit well with her, she's confident enough to reprove you. She's also confident enough to charge at Akatsuki members to fight them. That's right. Skilled killers that just took down a leader of a village, and here is a plucky young Chuunin (mid-rank who serve a leader of a village) ready to charge and attack them in close range combat. This is explored in Filler where she adamantly tells others to go on ahead and she'll hold off opponents (3 demon wolves, or 2 bandits) on her own. Do you really think someone insecure about their abilities would take on multiple opponents by themselves? Nope. Tenten will take on someone no matter how out classed she is, and she'll give it her all too. After all, she engaged two akatsuki members in combat, engaged multiple opponents at once, and never gave up during the Chuunin Exam when she faced Temari, who could blow away her attacks with ease. This doesn't show just confidence but determination too. She never once willingly surrendered or gave up in the entire series, no matter how outclassed she is. She even states that she won't run away or give up. When her attacks fail, as seen with her battles with Temari and Kisame, she attacks again and again and again until she's forcefully brought down.

Tenten's dream is to be a great kunoichi like Tsunade. Her desire is to be great and powerful and she never once deters from that dream, but rather she paves the road and fights hard to be a great female ninja. With this, she’s a bit of a feminist but this isn’t explored too much in the series. Tenten carries out each order carefully, such as defeating Naruto for the sake of the village (even though that later turned out to be a clone) and, when given an order, she performs it as swiftly and quickly as possible. This is shown when she's given a command to defend against attackers twice in the Three Tails Filler Arc. She immediately prepares herself and puts up a great fight! She gave it her all, twice on order. Her determination, stubbornness and confidence are such a core to her personality, she states she can't stand weak and indecisive people. She also states that, when Ranmaru tries to kill himself, that she won't let him end his life that easily and she won't allow it. She then bluntly and stubbornly asserts that he will take some responsibility for his actions. Tenten is not a girl of weakness or doubt. She's strong, she's very, very, unwavering and she's exceptionally confident.

Despite Tenten's overall rough exterior, she's capable of sympathy, and niceness. This is seen when she defends a crying Ino, recognizing the pain one must feel to be ordered to kill someone important to someone. She's also able to recognize that Sakura and Ino were fighting with kid gloves in the Chuunin Exam, and rather than making a degrading comment towards the both of them, she was able to determine why and ignore it. While she didn't provide sympathy for Ranmaru's situation (traveling and aiding a guy who killed a variety of people), she showed understanding and a will to save him, showing a rather gruff, tough, love. She also grows worried for their teammates when they're injured, unconscious, or do something out of character for them. Tenten does have hidden depths enough that shows she's a relatively caring person deep down, but often demonstrates it as a tough love. In one particular instance, She, after slapping Naruto, said she was worried about him and was happy to see him alive. During the battle against clones of themselves, Tenten keeps in contact with her team and makes sure to ask of their status. She also finds a really, really bloodied and beaten Hinata (after Hinata's battle with Pain) and made sure to take her to Sakura to be healed. She was really concerned over her condition, but that doesn't mean Tenten completely lost focus and just flipped out. Instead, using her concern for motivation, she logically brought her to be healed. Finally, Tenten isn't all strict and tongue-lashy. Most of her mood is genial. She's more of a supportive member and easily gives in if it satisfies Team Guy (or because she knows there's no point in getting a debate with someone as hot-blooded and determined). She retains a calm uplifting sense, unlike other people who are more calm for depressive reasons. She's not totally neurotic with her happiness, or easily excitable, but she still retains a mature and positive attitude to her, rather than a classic doom and gloomy wangst. She only becomes snarky and tongue-lashy when it's required (which is most of the time), but even then she'll have a generally calm yet upbeat (like a subdued smile, or a subtle positive light in her eyes) expression as she makes her quips - or she'll line face and shake her head, but she's never ever totally manic depressive as she snarks or as she goes about her day to day business. The databooks supplement this by stating that Tenten sometmes has a carefree yet calm smile, despite her power. This means that she's not totally hateful towards Guy or Lee, and she's even seen smiling when she watches them train and take their routines to a whole new levle of difficulty. She's able to be amiable when she needs to be, or is generally amiable until she has snark fuel, and even then, sometimes she snarks with a smile on her face, as seen in multiple times of part two.

Finally (yes, the tl;dr train is about to end!), Tenten LOVES weapons. And I mean, LOVES. She only becomes upbeat and extremely excited when it comes to weapons. In the midst of battle where people are getting injured left and right, she gleefully discovers a fan and eagerly flails it about to test its abilities when she's attacked. After, she looks absolutely dazzled as she ponders who dropped the “cool fan”. This is also shown in filler where she briefly uses an extremely unorthodox weapon with ease and really, really, joyfully asks for it only to be denied saying it needs adjustments. Previous to that, she showed an excited type of impatience, saying she couldn't wait to try all of the ninja tools. All of them. Finally, her love for weapons is shown in one hilarious quote "Amazing... The brilliance of the blade... the design. They're all beautiful! I want to take them all home!". Truth be told, she acts like Winry from FullMetal Alchemist in the presence of an intriguing, interesting, or brilliant weapon.

Strengths:: Tenten, first and foremost, is a weaponry master. Her normal methods of attacking are tossing projectiles. It's stated by Team Guy that Tenten has astounding accuracy and never misses (unless, of course, something causes her to miss or her attack is forcibly countered). Tenten can toss multiple projectiles with awesome speed. She can toss them (and other items) so fast, they appear as bright white streaks in the sky. Tenten can summon projectiles and other types of weapons from her scrolls. Tenten doesn't just use long range weaponry, she is also decent in close range too. This is implied when she uses two curved swords and she charges at Kisame, and a variety of close-quarters weapons (tonfas, staffs, chain-sickles, nunchucks, etc.) she uses is seen in the anime. Tenten's knowledge of weaponry is so vast, she's able to use an exceptionally unwieldy instrument after receiving it (a giant spike ball rigged with explosives connected to a long cord that attaches to a handle that could be used as a weapon) with relative ease. This is also shown in the manga where she (off-screen) uses the Basshonen (the fan that can use all five of the elements at the cost of huge amounts of chakra, however it does not count as true elemental mastery because the person only needs to think of the element and it is preformed.) well enough to destroy two of Kakuzu's masks, just minutes after receiving it. Kakuzu's masks even give Jonin's trouble. So in short: Tenten specializes in all weapons. All of them.

Tenten is amazingly skilled at taijutsu which is physical combat with either weapons or hand-to-hand. Tenten, according to Guy, is skilled at unarmed melee combat as well though to what extent remains to be seen. Considering how she was given a 3.5/5 for Taijutsu in the latest databooks, it can be assumed she's rather proficient in hand-to-hand combat, but not to the extremes like other ninjas. Tenten's other skills are her speed. The databooks state that she is the fastest kunoichi, and maintains exceptional speed. Tenten has astounding accuracy, and will never miss her target (unless something forces her to miss). She's very detailed, and can pick up on slight details that others overlook (even Shikamaru, who's one of the most observant people in the series). She's great at analyzing, in fact it's a requirement for her weaponry skills, and often uses this skill to measure the perfect distance between her opponent.

She's able to maintain a calm demeanor in battle and, as stated earlier in the application, seems to aim for the more logistical side of things. She's a focused girl, and she keeps the team focused. She's shown to have an above-average statistic in intelligence, and it shows with her vast knowledge of weaponry and how she measures the distance to carry out her attacks. She also has a great and strong bond with her teammates, she trusts them completely and has the utmost confidence in them.

Finally, Tenten's weaponry usually has explosives attached to them as of Part Two, and the databooks state that she polishes her weapons every day to keep them sharp and deadly. With her frequent handling of her weapons, it can be inferred that she at least knows the basics of explosives and can most likely make them herself.

Weaknesses: Tenten has a variety of weaknesses, the first that should be looked at is her confidence which is a double edged sword. She's not only confident in them, she's rather arrogant about them. She constantly gloats around about Neji and at some points considered him undefeated, so when he was defeated, she was really shocked. While she accepted that her teammates (specifically Neji) are subjected to fallacies, it's nowhere near enough to make it tolerable or less cocky. She still has high expectations of them, which causes them to get into dangerous situations. Tenten overestimates her teammates, and everyone knows that overestimation is never, ever a good thing.

Tenten, while being above average in some of her skills, is exceptionally vulnerable to Ninjutsu and Genjutsu. Tenten is only average in ninjutsu, and is rather subpar in genjutsu. With the exception of her weapons and her fists, she has no actual skills. She does not belong to a clan due to the lack of clan-specific jutsu or techniques and this ends up harming her. Tenten's weaponry could be defended against or overcome by more advance ninjutsu techniques. Tenten also has no natural defenses against ninjutsu so it could end up seriously causing her problems. Tenten's genjutsu is pitiful, and a simple genjutsu could cause her to be completely nullified. Because of the vast array of supernatural (in this case) techniques (from lightning blades, to giant fireballs, to water cyclones, to giant wind tornadoes, to earth domes that slowly drain the life out of you), Tenten may have a difficult time countering them all or attacking against people equipped with such extreme jutsu. She is still the slowest member of Team Guy, and is nowhere near as endurable as any of her teammates. Neji is a jonin-level Ninja, meaning he possesses some level of above average endurance (in fact, he nearly died from a what should have been fatal attack). Lee and Guy work to endure the 8 chakra gates which could end up killing the user (yet they remain perfectly fine in comparison to what could happen). Tenten loses breathe easily compared to her teammates, or, even worse, is the first of her teammates to succumb to a water prison. While she could prove an even match to anyone with elemental techniques, there's also a high chance that those with elemental techniques could trump her. Compared to other ninja, Tenten isn't physically strong either. She's stronger than the average human but not by much. Finally, Tenten lacks the vast storage of chakra compared to many of her comrades. She can not supplement large jutsu or things that cost a huge amount of chakra for a long time. In fact, this nearly ends up killing her when she uses the Basshonen. She has a decent amount of chakra, but decent is nowhere good enough or large enough. In fact, it's rather small compared to the rest of the konoha ninja. And decent definitely isn't good enough with a taxing monster of a weapon like the Basshonen.

Finally, there's Tenten's reliance on weapons. While she's extremely skilled with weapons, once she tosses a projectile, it's usually gone (she has found ways to counter this, such as attaching them to strings). If her weaponry skills are countered, she has no options left besides hand to hand combat, which may not be the best idea if your opponent can summon giant balls of flaming lava with the flick of their wrist. While Tenten is extremely skilled in her weapons, to the point where others speculate she may not need elemental ninjutsu, if, by chance, all of her weapons are countered, then that leaves her defenseless, open, and just a punching bag because she no weaponry left and therefore lacks an offensive way to attack.

Tenten's rough, forceful and blunt demeanor could be off-putting to some and will not mesh well with everyone. In fact, it can and will probably end up in her getting into multiple fights. Her confidence in herself (to the point where she charges men whom have killed village leaders) could end up getting her in over her head. This is actually showcased in the anime when she takes on a skilled swordsman by herself, and she takes on three wolves by herself. While she puts up a good fight, she ends up losing and being overpowered. Finally, despite her accomplishments in speed, taijutsu and other types of combat, there still are people who outclass her by far. She is only chuunin, or a midranked ninja after all! There are people much stronger, faster, and more skilled than her. Picture if like a food chain: at the top of the food chain there are octopi, or leaders of the village. Then there are sharks, or jonin/special jonin. Then there are dolphins, the chuunin, or Tenten's rank. There are a lot of sharks, octopus and more adept dolphins out there.

Samples (ALL samples must be set in Luceti-verse.)

First Person:

All right, let me get this situation straight. I’ve been taken from home, during the worst possible time, and placed here with wings that seem to do nothing but kill you if you rip them off. I’ve also been changed and put into a dress, which is just a bit creepy. [ The sarcasm in her voice is as heavy as an anchor. ]

We’re supposed to live an average life here, despite the fact that we have barcodes on our necks. Common past times to go along this average life include plagues, raining monsters from the sky, false memories being gifted on whim, horrible hallucinations, and being drafted to fight over grown pigeons. Surprisingly, [ Her voice spikes with sarcasm at the adverb. ] these sort of things aren’t really disclosed by the people who brought us here. These tiny [ And then there’s more sarcasm. ] faults are glossed over by the occasional theme park.

Also, to make this place even more endearing to our hearts, we’ve been robbed of all possessions and they’re in a store for just anyone to obtain. Finally, there aren’t any refrigerators and on my way to the hot springs an animal decided to say hello.

[ There’s a small pause before Tenten’s analytical and annoyed voice switches over to just pure irritation. ]

I hate this place already.

__________

If this sample isn’t up to standard, than a Q&A would be fine.

Third Person:

If this was any other circumstance, Tenten would have taken her time when it came to waking up. Normally, when she woke up, she woke up pretty idly. Working with Guy as her teacher and Lee is a fairly tiring thing and when you work with them, you’ll take all the time you can possibly get. These circumstances, however, were different.

Within a second of her eye opening up, Tenten immediately flipped to her feet and stood in a defensive position, “This isn’t the battlefield.” Tenten looked around, and inspected her surroundings. Despite the wilderness having similarities in composition, she still could tell by the small details, the types of trees, flowers and the lack of large, rocky cliffs near by, that this isn’t anywhere close to where she was.

“Must be a genjutsu,” after a couple of minutes of staring, Tenten decided that this could be the only possible answer. Why else would she be in a different location like this? Something so jarring and so obvious just had to be an illusion. Her hands formed a release sign as she shouted the command to disperse the illusion.

Nothing happened. Tenten’s eyes quickly swept the great outdoors once more before she bared her teeth in frustration. Genjutsu was never her strong point, but, at least she had a fail safe here. Any genjutsu could be relieved with the sensation of pain, and Tenten was prepared to inflict injury on herself. Reaching for her hips to find her holster and summon a blade, she figured if she could give herself a tiny cut or a stab, she could escape quickly. After all, it wouldn’t hinder her speed in the slightest, and she needed to be alert and move fast in order to prevent it from affecting her again. She was fairly confident in this plan, but, as she reached for her holsters, she found yet another thing wrong.

There weren’t any scrolls or weapons on her person. Instead, there was just cotton fabric. Tenten’s eyes briefly lit open in surprise. She continued to stare at her hips before wondering just how the hell could she suddenly appear here in the middle of nowhere? And if this wasn’t a genjutsu, what exactly was it?

Instead, she received no answer but a large, and very intense pain crawling across her back. Tenten’s body sharpened itself with the stimuli, and she couldn’t help but let out a brief roar with her injury.

“What the hell?” She tossed her head over her shoulder to find wings of all things attached to her back. With her wings, and the pain she received from them, confirming the fact that this isn’t a genjutsu she was officially all out of ideas. She thought about collapsing against a tree and resting for several hours, but decided against it. She had no idea where she was, and if this place gave her such a great level of pain and branded her with wings, chances are they weren’t friendly. She just chose to press onward, remembering that if she was able to make it through the pain of wielding the Bashossen as it rapidly drained her of her stamina and chakra, that she would be able to preserve through this forest.

Out of defenses, Tenten resorted to the only one she had left: sarcasm. She sighed, with a strained tone,  “Perfect". Is there a better way to start the day?” She clutched her back for a brief second before smoke, rising from the ground, caught her eye. After turning herself to face the direction, she nodded. There was smoke here, and where there’s smoke, there’s people. She was going to get answers, and go home, wings and back pain be damned.
