Gloriously glorious.
Well, I am a swing dancer now...my long-time dream is finally coming true. Now, when I say "dancer", what I mean is that I took one lesson. But it was SO MUCH FUN. I highly recommend giving it a try. I'm fortunate enough that I go to the city bi-monthly anyway and was able to coordinate it. I hope to find a dance (life?) partner one day, haha. It's fun in that it's no longer the rule to have male leads/female follows, so I'd like to learn how to do both, just to be flexible. If you want to see some crazy swing dancing (that I will never do but it's fun to imagine), check out these links:
balboa lindy hop (this one is absolutely incredible)
swing dancing So yes. The christmas season is off to a fabulous start. I also dyed my hair on Friday as a Christmas gift to myself, I suppose. I love love love it, and it's the best cut yet. This is the last week of school (wow...it's so hard to believe), my university friends come home soon, awards night is on thursday followed by a loser party, talent show friday afternoon, and then I get to see my brother and other family for Christmas, AAAND hit up the Boxing Day sales for the first time ever! This is also the best year for the youth group I lead as far as numbers, and some now attend church regularly. This is so awesome for me to be a part of this. During the drive down South I'll plan a contemporary worship gathering (GAAAH, that's exciting too...if you have any ideas at all, please pass them along) for the new year and hopefully a way to expand the youth group to the surrounding towns. There's then all the regular excitement and frustration surrounding applying to university. My two biggies are uVic and Memorial in NL. I want to live on the East Coast, but study the program offered in Victoria, except that I do want to continue music, which would mean Memorial...but I want to write. So I just don't know. Sitting here, I think I would be more disappointed if I was denied entrance to Memorial (probably only because I've been to NL before and it was gorgeous, and I haven't been to Victoria...plus, I've considered Memorial for over two years and Victoria for two months). I'm still going to visit the beautiful BC, though!
So yes. Oh, and my youth group leader and I (more him than me) wrote a song yesterday - The Greatest Christmas Cheesy Song Ever. We were supposed to be doing a singalong before the parade, but only one person came in, hahaha. It was worth it just for the song.
Later, equator.
