Geek out time: Heroclix, Narmor and Sinestro Corps!
Big day today, stuff happened but I'm just gonna skip to fun stuff!
Me and my buddy Garrett went to the comic shop today and oh what fun we had. We desided to go halvies on a brick of DC's Crisis series heroclix. Actually he paid 18 bucks more so i let him have the mailaway World's Finest figure (but only as long as that I got a Blue Beetle and Sinestro if there was one in the pack)
so anyway all my notable characters i got were Blue Beetle, Sinestro, Trigon, Hal Jordan, Star Sapphire, Kyle Rayner, Monarch, Dr. Sivana, Karate Kid, Mordru and all the Metal Men (except Will Magnes and Platinum). Oh... and the guy who sold us the brick tossed in two super rares for us as a bonus for buying the brick, my buddy got a super rare Batman (the one with Superman team powers) and tossed a Mighty Thor (with Power Cosmic) my way!
pretty damn good for a 50 buck investment if i say so myself.
I must share Blue Beetle's special powers with you because they are funny as fuck!
BLUE BEETLE GUN: can shoot through friendly characters and walls; when doing so roll a D6 and it knocks that opposing character back the number you rolled minus two. it can cause knockback damage!
BWAH-HA-HA-HAH!: Blue Beetle can use perplex! If a friendly Booster Gold character is adjacent to him, he can use outwit as well!
he's fucking savage for 60 points!
My Crisis Flash is badass as shit too! He has the ability to use Will-power and Super Senses in the same turn, can use Probability Control, Hypersonic Speed and Outwit! But the best part about him is his epic Crisis sculpt. It's fucking epic!
I wont even get into how awesome Mighty Thor or Trigon are! But I will let you know they'd blow your mind away!
Anyway, enough Heroclix geeking out. I also picked up the trade for the new Namor miniseries and I only flipped through it (havent had a chance to read it) but the art is slick and it it seems he does some savage shit. Namor is a major badass so I expect nothing less. I cant wait to read it!
I also reread the first trade of Sinestro Corps War and its fucking epic! I highly recommend picking one up, its amazing! Giant space battles, flashy art with amazing full page spreads and the writing is phenomenal! You can't go wrong with this book folks! It bumped Sinestro into my list of top 10 favorite comic villains! Right now is an exciting time to be reading Green Lantern books.
