Ok, so the past few weeks were supposed to be exciting due to releases from old favorite bands, and some intriguing looking movies. Well, it ended up being quite a dissapointing all the way around. Not that I'm an expert in any way shape or form... It's just, well, im an opinionated bastard, and Im bored.. A devastating combination..

Pearl Jam-Pearl Jam 4 stars out of 4. Definately their best release in a very long time. The album all the way through is very enjoyable. The only problem, a little short. But thats why we have the repeat button..

Tool-10,000 faces. 1 star out of 4. If you heard anything Tool has done in the past, you're going to get a rehash treatment here of work they've been doing over the last decade and a half. No standout songs to speak of.

Red Hot Chili Peppers- 2 stars out of 4. I was actually anticipating this one more than any other. 28 songs you'd think there would be plenty of quality material. This album does treat you, however, to a gigantic yawn. "Dani California" will probably win my "rock song of the year" award, and is probably the sole reason why this album would get both stars. The only other standout song would be "Slow Cheetah." If you ever wondered what it would sound like to listen to a 2 hour jam that goes absolutely nowhere, I'd point to this album as a reference.

Movies..

Silent Hill- 2 out of 4 stars. This had some Genuine creepy moments, but the first hour, is so slow, you're almost in a paralyzed comatose state. I can't believe I'd have to say that the video game, is much more creepier than the movie. Ouch.

American Haunting- Much quicker paced than Silent Hill, but then again, so is a tortoise race.. Again, some creepy moments, then some parts were actually funny (that I'm thinking was not intended by the director) and then the ending. The ending makes the whole movie not worth watching. Based on a true story, but they felt they had to add a unnecessary "The Sixth Sense" twist at the end, which was completely unnecessary, in which, if they kept true to the actual events all the way through, would've been sufficient enough.. 2 stars out of 4.
