Back in the Groove

Today was back in the groove day! I was in Chicago last week visiting my sister. In point of fact, I lost a couple of pounds, but my only major exercise while there was a little swimming and a lot of walking, usually a couple of times per day, a couple of miles around their neighborhood at a good clip.

New nickname for HD … Hi Def (courtesy of Chris). He thinks it’s the perfect moniker, so watch out! More importantly, let’s see if he remembers. Hi Def was on vacay today, so no chance to test it out on her.

Low Res for the rest of us.

Bear was back.

Since we all missed last Friday, Chris combined core with strength and cardio. Yup, total fitness today. And I have the sore muscles to prove it.

Get some heavyish weights (for me and Jayne, 10s, Dolores, I forget what Chris told her, but apparently she knows what to do …).

Hold the weights shoulder height, squats. Every exercise today was timed. Next drop the weights, jump squats (I know, what’s that about?). Pick up the weights, bent over rows? Drop the weights, jumping jacks. Pick up the weights, push presses? Repeat whole circuit.

Relax.

Get weights, get a mat, get on your back, feet straight up in the air, chest flies with the weights. Put the weights down, hands on the floor, hip rock and thrust (I forget what it’s called). Floor bridge, hold. V-ups. Get up. Cross countries. Repeat whole circuit.

Relax.

Pick up the weights, dead lifts. Drop weights, burpees. Pick up weights, push presses. Hold weights overhead, calf raises. Drop weights, alternating side lunges. Then I don’t remember what else. Repeat whole circuit.

It was a lot of exercising.

Food talk: my sister made the best ever homemade pizza … I will try and replicate at some point. Double entendres reared their ugly heads because you know who was back at it, motormouthing responses sans thought. Energy was surprisingly high. Lynda (awwww, Lynda) was mentioned ... always a good name to mention!

A good workout!
