[The audio starts with a brief whine of feedback. After working with nanocommunications for so many years, switching back to an old fashioned broadcast can be a little strange in itself. But Snake is nothing if not adaptable, and old habits are easy enough to fall back into. People familiar with Big Boss will recognize the voice. Different in the

They think they can tell us our memories are fake. [In a way, he's testing. Would Snake remember who he was, or had he forgotten, too?]
Reply
[Not too indicative either way. He'll leave you hanging for a bit.]
Reply
Why would I? I know my memories are real, and I'll kill anyone who tries to tell me otherwise.
Reply
Bit of an overreaction, don't you think? If you're so sure of yourself, why does it matter?

I hate liars. [A shrug.] You're probably too weak right now for Liquid to care about fighting. It wears off.

We spoke. He said something about that.
[The wearing off. And the not being interested in fighting him until it does.]

...I convinced him not to kill Boss, but I don't think you'll be so lucky. He died. Back in your world. He doesn't talk about it much, but... Mm.
[A shrug. Kadaj knew Liquid well enough by now to understand just how messed up he was.]

So he's out to even the score, huh? You should know I'm not going to sit back and take it.
Reply
Well then you'd better hurry up and get stronger again. He's got a head start.
Reply
Hn. Sounds like you're enjoying this.

It's fun watching Liquid make an idiot out of himself. [And even more fun reminding him of it later on.]
Reply
[He huffs and passes a hand over his eyes.]
Fun for you, maybe.

Liquid says they made you better than him, but he's going to surpass you. If he can, then... [Then maybe Kadaj can surpass his own brother. It was Liquid who was responsible for planting that idea in his mind, and Liquid who kept him focused on it, kept him believing he was somehow capable. If Liquid failed...]
Found you.
[If you were wondering why Kadaj hadn't really been paying attention to the video feed, it should be obvious now. He cuts the connection a moment later, studying Snake closely as he approached.]
If you want to avoid him, you're not doing a very good job.
Reply
[Good thing you didn't finish that thought, 'cause Snake would point out that it doesn't make a damn bit of sense. Doesn't matter what Liquid does, Kadaj. Your actions are your own.]
[He'd been sitting against the wall of the building when Kadaj arrived, likely avoiding the crowd of unfamiliar people who live in the hostel. He doesn't answer immediately, but Kadaj gets a sullen and wary look as he stands, stifling a bit of irritation at himself because he spots Kadaj a little too late, reacts a little too slowly. Like everyone who wakes up here he's more than a little out of sorts. Like he's been laid up for a long, long time and gotten thrown back onto the field without warning.]
Didn't know you were looking, too. Missed me that much, huh?
