[VOICE. you hear some shaking noises, a swearword or two in dutch slips out, as if someone's trying to figure out how the thing works.]
Not very hospitable of you, to drag a fellow out in this mess .... if you're not dead yet, I'll be very surprised.
[finally he gets it to VIDEO, and you see netherland's scowling face. he runs a hand through his hair irritatedly. he's worried and confused, and there's a furrow between his eyebrows that shows the extent of how much irritation he'll allow himself to show. focus, he says to himself. you're appearing on the screen. a diplomatic reaction is more respectful than throwing a tantrum. he turns to the screen, straightens his coat a little self-consciously. he looks grim, but then again, lots of things in this place is.]
Citizens and visitors of America, I am Netherlands. [pause. should he use his human name? they told him he's about normal as everybody else, but --
-- that doesn't necessarily mean he's stopped being a country, right? a country's more than just names and a history, he's the spirit of his people. that he has to doubt himself .... there's a downward pull at the corner of his mouth as he scowls slightly. who the hell believes all that crap? only humans. only them. this land, this stupid, awful land that turned them as such.
nothing new.]

[now that's out of the way --]
To any other countries present, I would like to call a world meeting. Immediately. No matter how many of us are left.
[his tone shifts, changes to a softer, more sombre note.]
To any citizens of mine in this place, I apologize. [sincerely, now.] I can't give as much as I used to, and would if I could, but ...
[and the feed cuts off.]
