Video Update!

Well, I was having some major technical difficulties yesterday with the compilation of my second video. Luckily, this morning I was able to figure out the problem and get it compiled, so I apologize for the video being a day late!

The first official weight-in of my Biggest Loser competition has kicked everyone into gear. I think seeing how good that I was able to do in the first two weeks made everyone else want to do better. While that's great to be able to motivate everyone... It's bad for competition! I feel like I have a huge target on my back now. The fact of the matter is, I'm not doing that much better than everyone else, it's only the first two weeks! They don't know it, but 9.7 of my 11.9 lbs lost so far took place in the first week alone! I only lost 2.2 pounds my second week and I will probably continue to only lose 2 pounds a week, so I have no idea which way the competition will go from this point on.

OK, on with the stats and video!

Stats

Measurements:  Previous  -   Current

Weight: 270.8 lbs    258.9 lbs
Waist: 43 inches    42.5 inches
Hips: 55.5 inches    54.5 inches
Thighs: 31.75 inches    31.5 inches
Calves: 16 inches    16.5 inches (whaa?!)
Upper Arm: 15 inches    14.75 inches
Neck: 15 inches    14.75 inches

Yea, so I'm not sure how I managed to gain half an inch on my calves... but it happened. I always measure everything like 5 times before I record it so I know it's not a fluke. I'm really happy that I am losing inches everywhere else though :D

I started my period this week so I'm feeling super fatigued and heavy. Three months ago I had an IUD inserted (never had any children so that was an experience...) and since then, my period has been a mess. I have been having three week long periods, with only 1 week in between where I'm not bleeding. This is the first time I have had over 2 weeks with no period... so I have no idea how long this one will last. The chocolate and peanut butter cravings have kicked in hard... and I'm afraid of what the number on the scale will read come Sunday when I weigh-in. No matter how many times I tell myself and have seen from experience that your period can really mess with the scale, I know it will upset me if it causes me to not lose. Ugh the stress of being a woman!

Anyway, this week my boyfriend and I have bumped up our times on the cardio machines. Yesterday we were on the ellipticals for 45 minutes straight... this is a lot for us! We had been dividing 38 minutes of cardio between two machines before, and doing 45 minutes straight on one machine really worked me harder than I was used to. I really felt it in my legs last night! I really want to start doing strength training as well as cardio, but now because this competition is strictly about weight loss, I'm not sure if building muscle would work against me since muscle is more dense than fat. Anyone have any opinions on this? I could really use some advice here!

Thanks for sticking with me!
