Using the general grouping of Red Alert Squad allows us to use the most amount of characters without really saying who has to be in what fic all the time.

Brief character descriptions:

Brittany House (Eliza Dushku): She's 21, married twice, and a mother to a young son, and while most people would stop and stare at that fact alone, she's all about the relationships. Married to Dr. Greg House, and an associate bench coach for the Princeton Tigers men's basketball team, life isn't easy for Brittany. She relies on the support and love of her husband, foremost, but needs help in other ways too, from Jake Hannigan's no-nonsense style of competitive sportsmanship, to Brian Holt's gentle guidance from time to tim. Some fics will include her husband and some will just include her relationship with others in an attempt to flesh out just what makes Brittany the woman she is inside.

Dr. Greg House (Hugh Laurie): He's 46, and an ex-drug addict and wasn't really the greatest guy before meeting his future wife in March of 2005. Their romance and relationship was quick, full of twists, turns, and now with their young son in the mixture, it's beginning to slow down a little bit but life will never slow down completely in their world. Fresh out of the hospital from a gunshot wound, and now treated and healed for the leg injury that left him crippled years ago, House has a new lease on life. Whether it's Kyle Porter, who has to reign him in and give him a nudge in the right direction from time to time, or, Michael Colefield, his unlikely friend after a kidnapping forced them to face facts, or his rivalry with Jake Hannigan, the one man he actually feels threatened by from time to time.

Jake Hannigan (Josh Lucas): He's 37, and probably the one true antagonist in this entire venture. Jake is Jake, a no-nonsense, back to the wall with his fists up fighter, who isn't afraid to tell you just what he's thinking, just how he wants to say it. You don't like it? That's your problem. At least, that's who he is on the outside. But on the inside, there are shades of a man that not many people see (or want to see, for that matter), that Brittany House does. Brittany and Jake have a relationship that differs from any other on the Red Alert Squad, because they know they've got each others back no matter what the cost. Now that she's left CTU for coaching instead, Jake is there, teaching her all he can using his ex-NCAA basketball playing talents and knowledge of how to play the game on the big stage. He and House tend to butt heads at times, but lately it's cooled down a bit, though who knows if that's how it'll stay.

Kyle Porter (Steven Culp): He's 42, and is considered by Greg House to be one of his best friends. Kyle is the reluctant, yet determined leader of the Red Alert Squad, and now that Brittany is out of the game for good, he's not quite sure where that leaves the rest of them. He's a nice guy, a smart guy, and a bit of a hopeless romantic. Greg House comes to him for advice. He used to be Brittany's boss, not to mention her teacher when she went through CTU Academy all those years ago.

Julian Burroughs (Joel Gretsch): Julian is the brains of the team, and probably Kyle's second in command. You need a mentoring, soft spoken, leader type? Then Julian is your man. Julian and Brittany are good friends, and ever since she personally recruited him years ago after stepping in front of a gun to save him from being shot, they've had each other's back. He's saved her ass more times than she can count, and she goes to him when she needs to keep something quiet and on the down low.

Brian Holt (Jason Gray-Stanford): Brian is the emotional center of the team, leading the group of unlikely heroes in the emotional sense. You need a shoulder to cry on or someone to tell you that everything will be alright? Then you go to Brian Holt. Brian and Brittany are the closest out of the team, and House and Brian have developed an interesting friendship as well, because of the fact that House goes to Brian for leg surgery.

Michael Colefield (Jack Davenport): Brittany's ex-husband, and probably the most lovesick of the bunch, Michael Colefield is the unsung hero of the whole story. His is a story of sacrifice and hard luck, all for the woman he still loves, even though she's moved on.
