DHL: Failure to Deliver (Part 2)

Jan 14, 2008 20:11

DHL never did call me this evening to alert me that the package had been retrieved, so began to get impatient/concerned.  I found the phone number for 254 Fawn Trail and called it. The resident checked her front porch and confirmed that the part had indeed been left there and then agreed to let me come and pick it up.  It was clearly--in huge bold letters on both sides of the box, as well as clearly written on the packing slip--addressed to my address.  So it seems that the DHL driver is just incompetent.

As far as I'm concerned, it's pretty irresponsible to deliver a package to the wrong address, leave it lying out on the porch, and then once you realize you've made a mistake to simply ignore it until the next day.  I understand that they probably have schedules to keep, but whoever was responsible for the delivery should also be responsible for taking the time/effort to correct their mistake that same day.  I'm very unhappy with DHL, but the important thing is that I have at least finally obtained the item.  Who knows what they will do tomorrow when/if they try to retrieve the package?
