Reinstalling the carpet was much more of a pain in the ass than I had expected. The carpet from the 93 didn't fit quite as well as I would have expected (not sure if it is a slight difference in the carpet or if the modifed interior trim panels aren't fitting as well), but it looks acceptable. The roll bar padding installed fairly easily, and I have secured it with zip ties in addition to the adhesive to ensure that it stays put. I haven't decided whether or not I want to put the soft outer layer of the dual durometer padding on it or not, but for the time being I am leaving it off. I've removed the Elise seat so that I can try to make the brackets and sliders mount it lower, and so I've put the NB seat in place for the time being. The NB surfboard and the NA used a different plug for the seat belt warning chime, so I just installed a jumper for the time being. I'm not worried about forgetting my seat belt. :-)
I also replaced my trunk lid weatherstripping with the piece from the 93 Miata, since mine had a nick in the rubber. It didn't leak, but it seemed like the kind of place where a leak would develop eventually.
One of the 1156 bulbs had burned out the other day, so I went to remove and inspect it. Unfortunately, it seems that it had gotten hot enough to soften and melt the seam of the housing surrounding it, which sort of trapped the bulb inside the housing. I had to break the bulbs to get them out, and then grind away the intruding melted plastic.
