I've been calling the salvage yard where we had a 1993 Miata towed (that's a long story, and I'm not going to get into it here) and checking to see if he has been able to obtain the title. I've wanted to buy the hard top off of it, and possibly some other parts, if he would let me. He has been unable to secure the title and has finally given up, so he is going to send the car to the crusher. :-( He agreed to sell me some of the parts before the car gets crushed though, so I went to buy the hard top and maybe the wheels. When I got there he told me to name my own price, so I ended up giving him $400 (it was all I could pull from the ATM at the time) and he seemed perfectly happy with that. Then he told me that if I wanted to, I could go ahead and take anything else that I wanted from the car. I wasn't planning on pulling very many things off the car, but the more I thought about it, the more it seemed like a shame to let it all get crushed, so I ended up spending 6 hours stripping parts from the car that day, and probably another 10 hours over the next few days.
