- Fabricated adapter bracket to bolt Elise seat to OEM sliders
This project got a lot more complicated than expected. Once I'd begun cutting and welding things together and did my first test-fit, I discovered that I had misjudged the taper of the transmission tunnel. I ended up having to cut along the side of my square tube and make that side a triangle in order to clear the trans tunnel sheet metal. This also complicated the mounting points as I had to notch the triangle so that I could properly bolt the seat to the bracket. Anyhow, what should have taken a couple hours ended up taking all day. :-( Finally got something decent together though, but now that it's done I can see how it could have been done way more efficiently. Hindsight is 20/20, they say. Now I just need to pick up some fasteners to bolt everything together.
