- Installed XPEL protective headlight film to the TruckLite headlamps
I decided that it was worth a few extra dollars to protect the new headlamps, considering the amount that I had already paid for them. I checked out a few different options and finally decided to go with the XPEL brand of protective headlight film. There was some confusion on the website though and I had initially ordered the wrong item by mistake, but XPEL's customer service was very helpful and helped me to ultimately get the correct item. I will not hesitate to do business with them again when the time comes.
Installation was very straightforward, and pretty much the same technique that one would use when applying any other vinyl film. The thickness of the XPEL material actually made it easier in some respects, though I'm not sure how well it will cope with the markings that are cast on the outside of the lenses. I may end up with small foggy bubbles in those areas, but it looks like the bubbles will be pretty insignificant if that is the case. I'm going to be leaving the car out in the sun for a while to see if that helps work out any of the remaining air and moisture.
