A life in the flesh is a life with chaos; a life with disorder; a life of frustration. A life in the spirit is a life with order; a life within freedom's borders; a life of peace. For me, the hardest part is always that first initial step. Whether it's writing an essay, recording a song, completing homework, cooking a meal (beyond the microwave), spending time with God, or talking to that person about Jesus, the first step has always been the most difficult for me. Laziness is easy to begin: watching tv, sleeping, net surfing, or anything else that requires little brain stimulation. Remaining in that state of laziness is easy as well, which makes the whole concept of laziness very scary; It's easy to start, and it's easy to stay. Of course these things aren't evil or sinful, but for me, it's easy to do these things outside of moderation. Laziness satisfies (temporarily) the flesh, but tortures the soul and the spirit. The passion to complete is crushed and "pushed-down", causing it's resurface to be filled with regret. This regret only resides after the flesh has had its way with you, but in the midst of laziness, convenient forgetfulness is the mode of operation. When we think outside of a moment, and when we think of the journey as a whole, we realize that we do not have time to waste. A life lived outside of our conveniences and comforts, is better than a life with regrets.

When I initially started writing this entry, all I thought of were the first two sentences. The rest just came to me in the moment. God is good. Ok, so I'm not saying that we should never be comfortable, or never watch tv, or never have "lazy days". This is more about those with "lazy weeks" or even "lazy months", and worst of all "lazy lives". Resting is important, and relaxing is important, but the Bible talks much more about redeeming the time and "doing" the work of christ, than it does about relaxin'. For me, I have much time to redeem.

Eph. 5:14-17

Therefore He says:

"Awake, you who sleep,
Arise from the dead,
And Christ will give you light."
Walk in Wisdom

15 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise,
16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

I have so much to learn, so much to love, so much to give, and so much life to live. Beyond the life of comfort, is a life of adventure, fun, excitement, and NO REGRETS. Live it up peeps. Much love
