as predicted.

I'm adjusting to life here. Last night I went out with an old friend, reaffirmed an old acquaintance and mingled with a bunch of potential friends. I have to make the best of this or I'll turn into a bitter old man with no positive energy left. (...*turn* into!!?!?!?)

Yesterday returning from the vet I got a speeding ticket. I know exactly how it happened. I predicted this within the first 48 hrs of moving in. I was coming down an overpass, in traffic. I was just driving with traffic with no regard for my speedometer. I was trying to soothe a sick kid. I never saw the speed trap that I know is there every nice day. Turns out they were out in force. As a consolation prize the cop gave me a coupon for a free sandwich at McDonalds, just for wearing my seat belt. A sandwich at McDonalds. This didn't make me feel better. The good news is that the price of going 43 in a 30 seems to be a mere 13 bucks. There's hardly a monetary disincentive there, only the time lost to being pulled over.

I may go out again tonight, but then again I may decide to be a hermit. The first disc of "True Blood" showed up yesterday. Thankyou, Netflix. We'll see what I feel like after dinner. Speaking of dinner, I need to find lunch.
