Hello.
It’s been about a million days since the last time I updated this thing, so I decided to blow the dust off it. The thing is I only update LJ when I’m really happy about something, or really pissed off. I don’t think the average person is interested in my day-to-day life, as thrilling as it is. So, to that note, I don’t really have anything major to report.
As for small stuff, I switched positions at work from customer service to shipping. That’s been nice so far. I understand that to the outsider, this might seem like a step down, but I didn’t take a pay cut, I don’t have to deal with bitchy customers, and I get to wear jeans and sneakers to work everyday; so to me, it was the obvious choice. In actuality, I have a lot more responsibility in this new position. I have no direct supervisor, and stuff would actually go seriously wrong if I didn’t stay up on my tasks. Then again, it’s all temporary anyway, God knows what I’ll be doing on the great island of Oahu; probably waitressing again.
On that note, the Hawaii move is still on, although it did get pushed back a month because Mercury will be in retrograde from about a week before our originally intended departure date, through our entire travel period, and the first 3 weeks in Hawaii. If we were to leave while Mercury was retrograding, it’s guaranteed that one of would end up left on the side of the highway in some Midwestern hick town, cursing the other one to hell. Anyway, we could use the extra few weeks pay; you can never have enough money when you’re picking up and moving 7,000 miles from home. Speaking of, I find it funny that whenever you see a map of Hawaii, it’s tucked all neatly towards the lower left side of California, when in actuality it’s the most remote island chain on earth. (This is a fact, not an exaggeration.) Check it out:

So, yes, dates have shifted, but all other plans are in full swing. Our savings plan is actually working quite well; we’ll already have $1200 after this week, which is only 3 weeks in. Not too shabby. I can smell the coconuts and island breezes already.
Oh, and have I mentioned that I have the best girlfriend, and the best relationship anyone could ever ask for??? It’s absolutely ridiculous how happy we are. Really. I mean don’t get me wrong, we have our days, and if Mercury or PMS is involved, it can actually come to blows; but I don’t believe there are any 2 people in the world more perfect for each other than us. I wouldn’t trade it for a million dollars.
Hmm, what else is new? Well, I’ve taken up pot smoking again, and am hovering dangerously near stoner status. It’s a really strange feeling to be smoking again on a regular basis. You see, weed and I have a history. There was a time in my life where I went like 4 days in four years without smoking the ganj, and that was just the most habitual period, I had actually been smoking for about 3 years before that. So that’s like 7 years and counting. Then I moved to Boston when I was 19, and I was dead broke with no hookups. So I had to quit, and I was glad. I had become bored with it anyway. So, I completely swore it off for about 2 ½ years, and I just picked it back up about 7/8 months ago. It’s slowly creeping in as a routine part of everyday life. And you know what??? I’m not sorry about it! It’s kind of like having an old friend back. I’m sick of the negative connotations that come with it. My girlfriend pseudo-bitches and one of my roomies acts like it’s a heavy narcotic!!! I like to smoke trees, it helps me relax. It makes everything taste better. It slows me down, and if you know me well, you know that’s a good thing. And I don’t see why it’s any different than coming home and having a few beers after work. So there, I’m off my soapbox now. I feel much better.
I have to do some work now. I guess that seems like alot, since I had nothing major to report.
If you’ve read this entire entry, thanks for listening.
Have a nice day…
