Allow me a moment to analyze a good piece of my summer this far: jack shit!!! All I've done is work like a Mexican with my dad and been tired as well as horribly ADD with just about all of my plans this summer. Haven't really practiced that much, almost pissed away piano lessons, forgetting stuff, smoking WAY too much, lying to my parents about smoking WAY too much, neglecting Belerian and other projects, and spacing out like freakin Rain Man. Needless to say, I'm pissed. But as the guy from Hellboy so aptly put it, "In the absence of light, darkness prevails." Actually, reverse that statement. Make it sound something like "when darkness is fed up with being just, you know, DARK!!! light has to appear at some time." Something like that.
Tomorrow is my last day at Haymaker. I'm a bit saddened by it actually, because it has showed me the importance and knowledge that manual labor can possess when applied to the right individual at the right situation. But of course, I won't miss things like waking up at 4:30 in the morning. The drumline gig starts Monday and I'm very excited. I'll also be returning to the cast of "Bean's Coffeehouse" in two weeks as my old character, "Tyler." (They upped my contract so I felt contractually obligated to make a reappearance.)
I plan to do some things differently with the rest of my summer. Primarily I want to get back into the same frame of mind with my music that I was in last semester. Time to stop Pussyfootin around, thank you Robert Fripp and Brian Eno.
