Just about 50 minutes of music finished for the conspiracy album. The first four tracks are set and total about 25 minutes and the last track is set, it's around 18 minutes. There's one "scene" in track 5 that's comprised mostly of effects with subtle background music that I haven't gotten to yet. I'm about 4 minutes into track 6 right now. 7 and 8 will include lots of audio samples that I haven't gathered yet. I've got to get those before I can really start much on the music. It's a lot easier to write a section of music to fit a particular sample than it is to write the music and then stretch or contract the passage to fit the clip. It seems "fixed" when I hear it if that's done. It's looking like the album will end up clocking in close to 70 minutes. So long as tracks 7 and 8 aren't 14-minute monsters I think it will all fit on a CD in the end.
For now, I'm just looking to get these tracks recorded. It would probably be pretty difficult to perform a lot of this live just due to the number of simultaneous instruments and samples. At some points there are 2 synths, 3 guitars, a bass, drums, and audio samples going.
So while I'm at it, is there anyone out there interested in recording some synth? It's mostly just some chords since I used synths mainly to thicken the sound, though there is a bit of piano and guitar doubling in there. Get ahold of me if you're interested.
