This is probably the most important item in today's update. John Kerry is planning to introduce a bill to provide health coverage to 8 million uninsured children into the Senate on the first day that it is back in session, and he wants it to be co-sponsored by hundreds of thousands of ordinary Americans. This seems like a good way to put pressure on the Bush administration and the Republican leadership to pay attention to the Democratic agenda, as well as a potential means of stiffening the spines of Congressional Democrats so that they hopefully won't just roll over for the Republicans the way they did during Bush's first term.
