Vacation, Had to get away!

Sep 26, 2010 15:23

Cyn and I pulled into our driveway at 10:48 PM Friday, five hours short of a full two weeks' vacation.  On the 15th day, we rested.  And on the 16th day (today) we rested and did laundry.  Tomorrow morning we are back to work and back to our normal life.

Vacation was great.  The seven days at Disney World were wonderful.  We stayed at the Caribbean Beach resort this year in a "Pirate Room."  It was really cool, but both Cyn and I think we will be going back to Pop Century next year.  Not that CB was bad; we really enjoyed our stay there, but it is really big and we were in the section furthest from the food court and Pirate pool.  The food court was setup a little different than Pop and the choices were not quite as good (in our opinions).

The four day cruise was wonderful.  The ship was more than a little rocky, especially the first night due to higher waves brought on by hurricane Igor, but it wasn't too bad.  Our table mates for dinner were great and we all exchanged names, e-mails and addresses the last morning.  I have a feeling that we will have new facebook friends very soon (some of the couples were not going home right away).

The only disappointment of the trip was the final day before driving home.  We went to Universal Studios to see the "Wizarding World of Harry Potter" section of the park.  It was not a very big area and it was way overcrowded.  The line of people trying to get into the wand shop was at least 100 people long.  The rides had height and weight restrictions (and I don't mean 48 inches tall or taller; we were too big for the rides) and the lines up to a 75 minute wait.  The shops were small and overcrowded and the prices were outrageous.  We stayed for less than 3 hours then went to lunch and Downtown Disney.

We are glad to be home.  Now we just have to put everything away and try to get ready for work tomorrow.  And ... start thinking about next years vacation!  Where to go, where to go...  I'm thinking ... maybe ... Disney World!  :-)
