Further madness

Agents are now calling for spur-of-the-moment tours. So at least four visits, today alone, perhaps more.

I succeeded in straightening up last night, and I've further resolved to stop dodging the people every time, and instead actively participate in showing the place off. Someone has to sign.

A friend selling her place up here in Maine called the realtor to say "take it off the market, we found a renter for 2 years... " and the realtor said "we're about to call you, we have someone from NY that is thrilled with your house, they want to see it in two hours... "

They came, saw, but didn't get much feedback... I think they're still going to keep it off the market. But the realtors have been... not the best, in communicating that which they need to communicate to the homeowner. They can be wicked annoying. The whole "We are helping you, you need to accommodate us all of the time!" mentality is difficult to get past.

*shrug* realtors can be not fun.

And I have plenty or relatives (father inc. ) who are realtors.

Meh.

good luck !

Don't do the landlord any favors taskboy3000 June 22 2008, 14:01:33 UTC
It's not your job to get the place rented. You do not materially benefit from it -- your land lady does. While I don't recommend being a jerk to realtors, etc., do the things you're comfortable with.

Remember: all landlords suck, but some suck less than others. :-)

Disagree - I do materially benefit from it in that it helps get the place sold faster, and then people stop coming by four times a day.

In fact I have reason to believe that the very first person I helped sell it to took the place...
