Bringing in 2008

As per usual, I brought in the new year with a rock'n party.  We have been doing the house party thing forever now it seems. It is a smallish group and always fun.  We played Guitar Hero III, played some drinking games (cuz how else would you bring in the new year) and generally had fun.

New Year's day I went for a 25K run. This is a club fat ass run. Believe it or not, 25K was only half the run. But it is a good distance, and a great run through the trails at UBC and along the sea wall to Stanley Park.  I finished off the run with a polar bear swim.  Wow!  It took forever to warm up after that... but oh so invigorating.  What a fabulous way to bring in the new year.  And if feels so good, after all the junk I ate over Christmas week.

I dont really have new year's resolutions.  I am back to marathon training however, well starting next week.  I am in the middle of half training, so it moves quite nicely from one to the next. As marathon training is about to begin, I am back to my marathon meal plan.  Which means, a lot fewer chocolates and breads and such and a lot more fruit, veggies and protein.  But it is all good.

I am working New Year's night (currently), and have made a decision already that I do not want my schedule changed for next Christmas.  I will just work what I am originally scheduled and forget this request thing.  I seem to get terrible schedules every year.  No more of this!!!!

More on the work front.  I only have 4 more sets before I am back to school.  Although I have yet to get my marks from the previous semester.  I will have to call and figure out what is going on.  It will be a good change, but I will miss some. well most of my co-workers.

My condo is coming along, I now have a roof and windows.  Maybe I will get to move into it yet.  Sheesh this wait is long.
