"Wallace and Gromit Die in Fire"
...has got to be one of the saddest headlines I've seen on the front of a British tabloid in quite a while, given that the daily dose of wars, disasters and other human tragedies are usually relegated to page five in order that the first three or four can be given over to such shockers as "Famous Thin Model Takes Drugs". (What next? "Ursine Faecal Matter Discovered in Wooded Area"?).
Anyway, whilst we mourn the loss of many of Aardman Animation's famous creations, this is probably an appropriate moment to visit one of their lesser-known characters. You might even discover where Owl Soup's cpt_buggernuts got her name.
