Sorry (not sorry) for posting twice, but it occurred to me that Yuletide will be opening tomorrow, although these are all fanvid recs. They're in the following fandoms: Downton Abbey, Marvel Cinematic Universe, The Mummy, Pacific Rim and The Princess Bride.
Downton Abbey
Running Up A Hill: cyrillah (Mary/Matthew, spoilers for season 2)
Engrossing vid, and I'm not even that much of a Mary/Matthew shipper, but the song added intensity and a sense of unease, which worked for the dread of war, as Mary faced the consequences of her decision.
MCU
Wolf Like Me: purplefringe (Natasha centric, Natasha/Bruce, spoilers up to Age of Ultron, teen)
Really loved this as a portrait of Natasha and how Nat/Bruce fit in. I'm impressed at the...meditative quality along with and in all the action.
The Mummy
You Told The Drunks I Knew Karatae: Josette_Arnauld (Evie/Rick)
This made me smile, perfect marriage of song and action.
Pacific Rim
Bone Bomb: izzybeth (Mako, ensemble)
Really loved how this vid conveyed the spirit of the Jaeger programme/humanity with Mako as the focal point, or narrator, even. The collage-y nature of it, how it uses all these varied clips added so much.
The Princess Bride
Holding Out For A Hero: turquoisetumult (Buttercup/Westley, Inigo, Fezzik)
This vid is an absolute delight, weaving adventure and amusement together with the bombast of the song beautifully.
