Fanfiction recs in the fallowing fandoms: Beauty and the Beast (the animated film); Farscape; Harry Potter; Lord of the Rings and Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Beauty and the Beast (the animated film)
One Winter’s Night: Thistlerose (Gen, pre-canon.)
Lovely, plausible backstory for how Maurice and Belle ended up in the town. Belle is so herself, but seven years old. I particularly liked the prophetic dream, Belle's first impression of the town she'd sing about and the presence of her mother.
Farscape
John Crichton and the trials of being very far indeed from home cooking: cofax7 (gen, ficlet)
Shows John’s resilience and adaptability in a really sympathetic way.
Harry Potter
Healer: fahye (Padma-centric, Padma/George, canon divergent AU, post year 7, R, 'ware warnings, longish)
Remarkable and powerful study of grief and identity.
LOTR
The Use of Memory: Altariel (gen ficlet)
Beautiful writing with the theme of light waving through it and a discussion about grief and hope between Arwen and Faramir.
MCU
The Stories That Stay With You: TLvop (gen, Thor-centric)
In which Thor reads and geeks out over the Middle Earth books in his own way. As do the Avengers. Thoroughly entertaining, but also touching. (I wasn't trying to be clever with the order of the recs, I just go alphabetically by fandom.)
