7.4 The Jimmy Jab Games II

Extended weird ‘The Greatest Showman’ riff from Boyle, while I think Jake most undermined his definition of himself by citing ‘Bring it On’ to back himself up. So, he freaked out about Terry thinking him responsible now, there was a ‘drugs are bad’ message, Debbie Fogel returned and was weird, showing the show does miss Gina. Holt and Rosa got competitive until Holt got at what was driving her. I’m with Holt on the death metal, and we got a glorious bewigged flashback and a slo-mo walk subversion.

It was very good for erasing what I’d seen on the news from my mind
whilst watching it.

7.5 Debbie

Good, multi-layered opener, and what ensued with Debbie the hapless criminal was continually offbeam. I liked that the ending circled back to the frankly shocking takedown of Rosa by Debbie, even if she was coked up. The takedown of Jake, less so.

Interesting that we never learned which reader got the intel for the cavalry to reach in time - but why didn’t they just look for the most recent diaries? (Less funny, I know.) Debbie’s mother was awful.

I’m behind and will be even more so by tonight. (I’ve been rewatching The Honnit and now Lord of the Rings extended edition DVDs over the weekend, and dipping into the features the rest of the time.) This entry was originally posted at https://shallowness.dreamwidth.org/423264.html.
