All the Colours. The Great British Sewing Bee RPF/Harry Potter. Universal. Joe Lycett, Patrick Grant, Esme Young, Luna Lovegood.

Disclaimer: Obviously these real people did not do this. This is for fun, not profit.

Written for the prompt: Any, any, "Was it really necessary to use every color?" at comment_fic 277 words. Spoilers for this past season of Sewing Bee.

All the Colours: shallowness

The judges know something's up when Joe, no doubt prompted by a producer, hands them each a pair of sunglasses as soon as they come in through their door. The camera catches Patrick's quizzical look, and Esme's exasperated one as she points to her glasses. The message is clear: there's no way she can wear sunglasses over them, and she needs to be able to see to do her job.

Joe shrugs, and says. 'I did my best' to both producers and watching public. One of the contestants cackles at their desk.

The presenter steps aside so that the judges see the mannequins lined up for them, dressed in the results of the transformation challenge. Both blanch at the garment in the middle of the row.

"Was it really necessary to use every colour?" Patrick demands. Esme lifts up the closed sunglasses like opera glasses or a raft for her eyes.

Luna Lovegood, this year's most eccentric contestant, shrugs. Yes, it was necessary, and the challenge was to use cut-offs from the competition so far.

Draco has only used the materials of the people he thinks are going to be in the final, but the effect is less than inspiring. Hermione gets criticised, but this is always her weakest round with no pattern to follow, while Lavendar’s last-minute ruffle gets slated.

But wearing the sunglasses, Patrick peers at Luna’s work. Nobody can read his face. He straightens up and says, ‘Incipient migraine aside, this is really well sewn.’

‘Yes, and look at the asymmetry. It’s just the colour matching that’s the issue,’ Esme says and moves on to yet another dress robe - this year’s lot’s favourite outfit.

Aftermath of a Spoiler. Marvel Cinematic Universe. PG. Steve Rogers/Darcy Lewis. Written for the prompt ‘MCU, any/any, giving away the plot of a new movie’ on a multiples-of-37 day at comment_fic. 296 words. Mild spoilers for ‘The Aftermath (2019)’

Aftermath of a Spoiler: shallowness

Steve's eyes widen as he realizes what he's done. After years of ticking items off the list in his book and being the one catching up on everyone’s recommendations, he didn't expect to be the one spoiling Darcy Lewis of all people.

"I cut down on the internet,” she waves her phone at him, “so that Jane and I could go and enjoy us some Alexander Skarsgård, and Captain America is the one who drops the movie ending on me. What is my life?"

It doesn't help that Sam is snickering behind him, and even Wanda has a small smile on her face. No point in begging her to wipe Darcy’s memories of the last few minutes. But Darcy’s dark-haired head is bent down, and Steve feels bad. She’s been as enthusiastic as anyone to suggest what he should catch up on, and he’s always got the feeling that she’s put thought into her recommendations.

He’d ducked in to see the film because it was set almost within touching distance of his memories, although he’d mainly spotted anachronisms, just like he did when he was watching Atonement. Steve’s about to say something about there being plenty of that actor to see, when Darcy peeks up at him through her eyelashes, capturing all his attention.

“Of course you could make it up to me. Take me to see another movie. I’m sure there’s something we both want to watch coming out. That way you won’t spoil me.”

His voice has almost deserted him, so Steve has to cough - it’s not loud enough to cover Sam’s convulsions of laughter.

“Even if we’re watching it for different reasons?”

Darcy gives him a warm smile, which makes Steve think he hasn’t spoiled The Aftermath too much for her, and nods.
