Strictly - last results show of the series

Very fun lindy-hop meets beat-boxing dance battle to open with.

Tess had changed into a black asymmetric snooze, Claudia decided to honour the eighties in entertaining fashion, Shirley looked fine, but Darcey took it in a beautifully fitted white gown with flared skirt.

The recap was fair.

Cue the red lights, and Joe was called safe (is he the favourite now, as he’s never been in a dance-off?) AND THEN ALEXANDRA. Obviously epic response from those two. Gemma finally made it into the dance-off. Everyone was dressed for their second dance, apparently out of their choice, so I’ll presume the producers made all those their second dances and sorted out the order accordingly.

Joe was very hyper.

You have to applaud Alijaz and Janette for doing beautiful lifts to a (dull) song featuring the lyrics ‘stumbling’ and ‘falling’.

The ship the show was trying to force on us versus the ship that has been teased more successfully all season. The better dancer got through, and it’s only fair that Alexandra, Debbie and Joe are in the finals. Giovanni had better buck up his choreographic ideas.

Mollie’s gown was even more gorgeous in close-up. Darcey started giving good advice about Mollie’s headspace and then spoiled it by raising too many things. This was always going to be an interesting dance-off because they’d got the same score. My iPlayer was jumpy, but Mollie and AJ’s waltz seemed lovely, again, and cleaner, but I was thinking about what more Gemma and Aljiaz could bring to the final, so if I’m thinking more highly of someone else’s routines while yours is going on, you’ve got a problem. I wouldn’t have been able to call it on the basis of how both couples danced their dances, but I am glad Gemma got unanimously through.

Mollie came off well (and must be hoping for something on the West End.) And it felt a bit mean that she got to see her journey on the main show without a tissue.

I’ll be making an effort to catch all the ITTs. Darcey and Shirley made for an entertaining and candid double-act.

I posted Pizza (with him) Always Wins yesterday. (Sky High, G, Layla, Magenta, Zach, Warren, M/Z, L/W, 300 words). I saw the prompt on Friday, posted it to the comm on Saturday, and more widely yesterday. Noteworthy for being the first time I use The Illuminator as Zach’s superhero name (I think!)
