B99 and a TV meme
Brooklyn Nine-Nine 2.05 doesn’t seem to be available on 4oD!?!? I didn’t realise and watched the next episode anyway. There was one plot thing I was confused about, but mainly I’m miffed about losing out on the laughs. (And episodes three and four are available so I don’t understand why.)
2.6 Jake and Sophia
What I was confused about was that Gina and Boyle had broken up and I didn’t remember it.
ANYway, this was fun. I liked Longoria’s Sophia, liked her with Jake, moreover, despite shipping him and Amy. He was as mature as ever, and I loved the precinct’s loathing of defence attorneys. It’s no Parks and Rec people versus librarians (yet??) but it makes total sense.
Amy and Rosa’s union plotline was great too. Amy’s feelings about bickering with Holt versus her rightness for the job were spot on. Of course they went far enough to make him crack about not getting involved. His ‘fighting with the bosses’! Never stop with those flashbacks, show.
Rosa totally knows about Boyle and Gina, and the parental spin-off of their stalemate over the room was a perfect tag with perfect casting.

- Love to rewatch: Deep Space Nine (as I hope to start rewatching season 2 soon.)
- Wish had ended differently: North and South
- Love the way it ended: Wives and Daughters (there are others, but I keep twitching ‘They’re VICTORIANS’ at the end of N&S (even though I have no such twitches at the end of the nineties Persuasion, which is a different era. Meanwhile I love the ending they crafted for Molly, because, of course, the novel the adaptation is based on was tragically unfinished.)
- Wish had not been cancelled: Jake 2.0! Paradox! I feel bad for saying Farcsape, because it was brought back, if not as grandly as Firefly and Veronica Mars, but what could have been with season 5 with the Nebarri!!!
- Love to hate: Agents of SHIELD was veering really close at the end of season 1.
- Wish was out on DVD/Blu-ray: Jake 2.0
- Love unconditionally: Farscape and Press Gang.
- Wish you had finished watching: Orphan Black - I’m two eps behind, and either I buy season 2 or I don’t continue watching it when season 3 returns.
- Love more than it deserves: So many shows, probably
- Wish you had not invested the time: Revenge, a little bit, because I can’t give it up, although I’m dragging my heels on keeping caught up.
Hmm, that one’s an odd mix of answers I’d probably always give and snapshots of what’s going on with me now.
