Borgen

Damned If She Do: chaila

Fabulous Birgitte-centric character piece that sums her up and her story. (People who didn’t know the show seemed to like it in the comments, and I think it does a good job of selling the show about this brilliant lady and her use of power and its complicated cost.)

BTVS

The Polka Slayer: bradcpu and milly (spoilers for everything)

This made me cackle (with an occasional sigh, because it is also an overview of Buffy).

The Dark Knight Rises

Couldn't wash the echoes out: purple_cube R Selina/Bruce

Really good distillation of these two in this reunion ficlet.

Dredd

A Thousand Other Faces: anr Anderson/Dredd strong teen

A vivid, tense fic about Andreson/Dredd and Anderson at work.

Who are you really?: obsessive24 (movie-level violence)

The song raises the question of identity, and the vid uses the movie’s action well to look at it when it comes to Dredd and Anderson.

The Good Wife

wrap me up (unfold me): empressearwig Alicia/Will ficlet, (early seasons)

An act of caretaking brings back a forgotten memory...

Harry Potter

Expeditions in the Attic: cranberry_crash Gen. Neville, Augusta, Frank and Alice. Pre-books.

Augusta finds a way to help nearly-eight-year-old Neville discover his parents as they once were. A lovely, layered fic, with excellent characterisation (but a few minor slips into US English.)

LBD

until gravity is too much: abvj Lizzie/Darcy post ep 80

High-quality writing, where Lizzie is at emotionally is so well described.

MCU

Various

I Don't Believe in Fairytales: Tatyana Oracle (IM2, Avengers)

The lyrics used in this song for theis vidlet are brilliant for Natasha and what she asks of Clint.

Avengers

The Responsible Science series

Part 1: A Fine Spur: lettered Bruce (Hulk)-Natasha (Bruce/Natasha implied) teen long

Really enjoyed this: the character insights, the circling around each other and how things are not as they seem. Excellent.

Part 2: The Hollow Men: lettered Bruce, Steve teen? longer

Really monumental, thoughtful and throught-provoking fic - it's a continuation of 'A Fine Spur' although you could read it as a standalone. Bruce is now in Uganda, which is why Steve turns up there.

Part 3: Keep Your Splendid, Silent Sun: lettered teen long (Bruce-centric gen)

Bruce returns to New York. Again, thoroughly thought-provoking, intelligent writing that demands thought and compassion.

Part 4: The Kids Weren’t Alright lettered (teen, long, multi-chaptered) Bruce centric,

Takes a ridiculous (but plausible, because it’s the Avengers) premise and gives insights about Tony and Bruce, others and their relationships with those others, growing in emotional impact, chapter by chapter.

Part 5: Let’s Stop The Time Warp (Again): lettered, teen, language, long (even by the standards of the ‘Responsible Science’ series) Bruce-centric

Excellent series that continues with the character work of previous parts, only expanding the cast further (Darcy! Jane! Thor! Pepper's plausible mother!), and really thinks through the implications, emotional and existential, of another sci-fi trope.

The Mindy Project

New Year’s Eve: fearlessfan Danny/Mindy (set during season 1)

Takes a stock situation and imbues it with the show’s tone and sensibilities. Danny just doesn’t know how far in he is...

Once Upon a Time

Perilous Things (The Bright Spots and Dark Corners Remix): AstroGirl

Belle in the Dark Castle full of dangerous things, and how her approach to them affects Rumpelstiltskin...

Pacific Rim

King and Lionheart: violace

A vid about Mako Mori and Stacker Pentecost -- the king to Mako's lionheart.

I found how this vid showed Mako (and Stacker, but chiefly her) playing her part in the fight against the kaiju really moving.

Star Trek: The Next Generation

The Ballad of Wesley Crusher: jetpackmonkey
A really sympathetic vid about young Wesley Crusher

X-Men

Ghosts: sionnain Gen, Scott, Rogue, (Scott/Jean). Post X2 (jossed by X3, let alone XMFC)

This is lovely, thoughtful about the characters and I just loved that they both found a little lightening of their burdens in trying to help their team mate.

X-Men First Class

Games For Her Lies, Two Reasons Why: outlinesilver

Raven-centric ficlet (with Raven/Hank, Raven/Erik and implied Raven/Charles) that expands on the characters' thoughts and motivations.
