Stop smiling

I now have a list of shows to catch up on and The Mentalist is on it. Came home too late for it last night and my tired brain was capable only of watching the following:

B99 1.9

Santiago and Diaz’s budding friendship was the best plotline, although I snickered at Peralta starting a giant fight between cops and firefighters and their final prank. Totally saw the fact that Jake associated the pizzeria with his father coming. And so there’s a point to the assistant - I didn’t miss her last week, but at least they used her bad manners to prove that she knows her team. I mean, I too found it credible that she was just being rude
(But really, Santiago was as childish as Jake can be over Rosa getting offered a captaincy.)

Also caught up on AOJE

Q&E 6

Meh. All I got out of that was that Jane is overcompensating by being BRIGHT AND HAPPY. And Rose was unknowingly abetting her.

Ep 72 Composition

A bit lacking in subtlety, mostly, from Jane’s cunning plan to ‘What about your soup?’ but in the middle of it was Simon’s discomfort at talking about his feelings - in any situation - but in front of the camera (possibly also to Jane) which she could have respected more (except we wouldn’t have a vid). And then Jane’s passionate defence of love once she’d heard his reasons was mainly about her, although the point about Simon unilaterally deciding for Rose and not giving her a chance to decide if she’d share his life with him being wrong was fair. He’s so inflexible, he can’t imagine anyone else being able to compromise, whereas Jane can - a little too much so. There was also a bit of chippiness from Simon about Rose’s wealth and privilege, most of which comes from the novel.

So, there was an interesting clash of viewpoints with some merits on both sides.

I still feel that the Rose I see isn’t the one they think they’re showing.
