Caught up on the Strictly Christmas Special.
This show is always a kind of way of weaning-off Strictly proper, really. None of the couples stood out for me, they all looked under-rehearsed and were fortunate that Christmas special scoring applied. If they have the technology, it might be fun if they put in the studio audience’s votes in the normal show.
The female celebs came off well in terms of personality, and Rufus Hound basically did a charming audition to replace Bruce with sharper bad jokes. I guessed that huskies + putting so much into it that he got injured + being funny on purpose + not being terrible would win the show for him. It was nice to see Ian and Flavia again and I actually thought Aliona won the choreography competition, because that was a really dynamic American Smooth.
But who thought that Silent Night and The Fairytale of New York were appropriate pieces to dance to? Sir/Madam, you were wrong. I hated the choir boy’s performance, seeing as he couldn’t manage to hit most of the notes, also I have no idea why he was dressed as a choir boy to sing that song, which I don’t love either, all of which was a shame because Pasha and Janette were dancing beautifully.
In other news, I got my mitts on a second hand copy of The OC season 4 boxset, which is a delight. It is, after all, the season when Taylor Townsend made Ryan Attwood smile.
Plus, as part of the
Three Sentence Ficathon i_love_freddie filled my prompt:
Harry Potter, Dean/Luna, picnic.
