Nearly all from festivids, and I haven't yet finished watching everything I want to see yet.
The Bletchley Circle
Turn to stone: barkley
This is perfect for the extraordinary women of this show.
Charlie's Angels movies
Circus of Heartbreakin' Divas: dragonchic
Such a fun vid.
Community
Folding Chair: sisabet
Wonderful Annie-centric vid (contains s2 spoilers)
Annie Edison, aka Little Annie Adderall, aka Caroline Decker from Corpus Christi, Texas (but only that one time) grows up. Hard.
Good Will Hunting
Diamonds: rhoboat
Really, really good. Loved the way it told Will’s story and as well as conveying a strong sense of who the other characters were, a sense of place too.
Grosse Point Blank
Right Moves: greensilver (violence)
So great. (I need to see this film again!)
Hero
A Combat in Tribute to You: rhoboat
Fittingly, given the source material, this uses colour and contrasts action or motion with stillness marvellously well.
The Lake House
Break Me: dualbunny
I was curious about how a Lake House vid would work, I didn't expect it to be so emotional.
The Mission Impossible (film) series
Sabotage: ohvienna
Great action vid - I love how it brought together what I tend to struggle to think of as an unified whole.
Moon
Another code against the gone: cherry
Very effective and creepifying vidlet (I’d fall on the side of saying spoilery for the film).
The Princess Bride
Killer Dillers: crowie
I love the use of syncopation and the feel of the song for this reminder of how wonderful a film it is.
RED
Killer Queen: cosmic-llin
Witty and appropriate celebration of Victoria (and I say this as someone who has almost got tired of Victoria footage in RED vids.)
Sense and Sensibility (1995)
Ever-fixed mark: deelaundry
This vid is a delight, focusing on the Dashwood sisters and their relationships (chiefly with each other).
True Grit
Devil’s Tattoo: Lilly the Kid (strong violence)
The use of flashback is particularly brilliant - focusing on the violence, death and cost involved in what Mattie went through.
Whale Rider
Sons and Daughters: frayadjacent
This is a really affecting (ie it made me tear up) vid about community and family.
Witness
You were a kindness: fan_eunice (nudity)
The way the song, tone and lyrics, fit the stories of these characters works wonderfully well.
