Wire in the Blood 4.04 'The wounded surgeon'

I may have got the title wrong, I'm too lazy to check. So they told us there was going to be a new series told us the first three series were available on DVD. Says a lot, that does.

My main impression of last night's ep was that it was really beautifully shot. More so than usual.

Also, I got red herringed - I though it was the shrink and that they were repeating themselves. But no! I doubted Tony! Oops. Although I am ignoring the Tony canonically fancying DI Replacement, because it's easier that the relationship is platonic. Actually, not that it isn't on her side. But she's very much the second string. And a lot of this ep would have resonated more had it been involving Carol. (I do get why HN wanted to go and play spies, becuase Carol too was the second string, the straight man, but still!)

The Killer of the Week had the same forehead as Robson Greene - effectively used. And that is about all I have to say about that. I should gather my thoughts together on the series, but if I did, I think I'd start using One True acronyms and it'd overlap with Spooks thoughts, and so I'll wait until this run of Spooks ends and see if I remember to write about it then. Though I will say this, after 4.02 I was considering writing some sort of vignette about how all the prostitues were leaving Bradfield, given that they were ripe targets for serial killers, police officers pretending to be prostitutes weren't safe and some of them were in fact behind the killings. But it never solidified into anything I could write, though I was sorely tempted to call it 'Exodus'.
