SPN thoughts: 'Something Wicked'

Aww, Dean!

I wasn't expecting much (and hey, this ep ripped off Buffy and Harry Potter's dementors and goodness knows what else, plus I think the Supernatural writers think that long and thing hands are very, very scary and I demand a monster with podgy hands ASAP). The kid playing Michael was...not great. But Ackles was. Quick recap as to why: suit, Dean interacting with kids, gruff angst, flashbacks (oh wibble at little!Dean. I want to shake Sam just a little, mainly because his shaggy hair shaking would make me laugh, but I find a lot of his arguments untenable, and I want to plant a boot in John Winchester's backside. How old was little!Dean in that flashback? Would it have KILLED John to, oh, call the Pastor to come and fetch his sons instead if he HAD to go hunting? Prat.)

Ackles was brilliant, he even made the gazing thoughtfully into flashbacks work. (Now I really wish I'd seen him on DOOL. Also he was working the stubble, and acting the heart out of this material that he was given.

Should have seen that the doc was suspicious by his not asking why the 'CDC' representatives weren't taking more of an interest in the medical tests. And that reminds me of the suits. Good suits.

I'm shallow, so I can't begin to guess (and it could have just been Dean prominence) why this got to me when the last two or more eps really didn't. Maybe lowered expectaions helped.

Also, I'm back to Dean/Faithing. I mean the 'I'm a big brother' line ties him in with Buffy, and the do what I got to do to save the world/expunge my feelings of guilt attitude too, BUT I love my Daddy but he sure screwed me up is more Faithy.

Also Sam went to the library. And we had two motels.

And all that came after I realised too late that I could have watched the American Idol repeat. Oh well, I'll read the TWoP recap instead.

tv, shallow, supernatural
