[ Now, this is a very familiar view to those that have known the Professor for some time; the Pokegear placed down on a small coffee table angled in such a way to film its owner, a open notebook with a fountain pen nearby, a hot cup of Belle Classic tea, and the great Professor himself. From the surroundings, it seems that he's in a Pokemon Centre ( Read more... )

[Eleven didn't say anything at first--just called out his Onix with a huge smirk on his face.]

I'm on my way right now.

[ The Professor stares for a second, but chuckling. ]

Always moving so quickly, aren't you, Doctor?

Some things never change, Professor. And a lot of those things are me. ...Except when I do change. Which happens more often than you'd think.

So really that whole statement was a lie. Things change all the time.

But staying in one place is boring, and old ruins are quite the opposite of 'boring'.

Haha, that is indeed true. It is very good to see that someone else does think the same about ruins. I'm afraid not many do.

I love ruins, I think they're brilliant. Sometimes they even manage to be older than me.

Humans make the most interesting things, don't they? It'll be such fun to see what kind of things are hiding about there.

[ Right, the Doctor isn't exactly human from what the Professor remembers. What, with two hearts and all-- or at least back before Johto. ]

I do have to agree. It might be very interesting to see what we can learn down there. It will be quite fascinating to see how much the ruins here differ from the ones back at home.

It's going to be excellent. Fantastic. Brilliant.

[But if he sees any sign of anything that even sounds like 'Pandorica', Eleven's going to be running like hell.]

It will be. [ Aw, stop being a pansy, Doctor, and oh! The Professor always has been wondering about this... ]

Doctor, you have said that some ruins are older than you. If you do not mind me asking, but how old are you exactly?

Well, let's see...quite sure I lost track around seven hundred or so, and that was quite some time ago...

I like to say around nine hundred and seven. Nine hundred's a good number, so I started over from there.

My word, and you don't look a day over 25 even.

Well, this regeneration is remarkably younger than the rest were. Strange, I almost seem to be going backwards--for all I know, the twelfth could be a teenager.

That will be quite the sight to see and "regeneration"?

[ Doctor, stop speaking about things the Professor doesn't know. ]

Well. You know how others here have called themselves 'the Doctor'? It's because they're me. Will be me. And I'm them, or I was them once.

Regenerating is my race's way of cheating death. Starting over; new body, new personality, new teeth, all that.

Amazing. That explains how you have lived for such a long period of time. It must be very useful to have this ability.

Pretty useful. Though the last one did nothing but complain about dying as it got a bit nearer the end. Wasn't too thrilled about me taking over, to say the least.

From the few conversations I have spoken to for the other gentleman, the one without the scarf, it seems as if your personalities are different. Is this natural?
