[Hello, good people of Johto! It's been a quite a while to get an entry from this Pokegear! Man, can you even remember who it is? Here's a hint: it's from a man with a top hat! Picarats are 30!
If you guessed Hershel Layton, then you are correct! Add some picarats to your names! The Professor would love to do that himself, but he's a bit busy right

This is Phoenix giving you a mildly freaked out look because oh god ELEVATORS. He's not too scared of them, himself, but he can't say he's all too fond of them after finding out exactly what can go down in them.]
...uh.
First things first, Professor...are you alright? That doesn't look very comfortable.
[Meanwhile, he's working through that puzzle...hmm. It's not the kind of puzzle he's good at; HE CAN DO THE MURDER ONES AND THE LIKE, but these ones tend to throw him off a bit. Give him a few minutes...]

Yes, I am quite fine, thank you for asking. Though I do have to admit that it is a bit uncomfortable. The elevator tends to feel quite small after being in one for some time.
[AND TAKE YOUR TIME MR WRIGHT. He'll have a murder puzzle for you after!]

I can imagine...but, hey, it could be worse. At least there's people coming for you.
[...he hopes.
AND THIS IS HIS DEEP THINKING FACE. Let's see:
~ WITNESS TESTIMONY ~
The man is on the tenth floor of the building. He is able to push the button to come down into the lobby. However, for some reason, on the way up...]
When the man takes the elevator down to the lobby in the morning, are there other people with him at that time?
[This isn't a cross-examination, Phoenix...]

and the Professor nods and just waits patiently for Mr. Wright.]
On some days, there are other people but on others, there are not.

I see... [That's a pretty roundabout answer, man. 8|a Oh, well. What does he know about the situation?
The man takes the elevator down in the morning with no problem.
The man only takes the elevator up in the evening when he's with other people...or, oddly enough, if he has an umbrella.
However, he can, for some reason, stop on other floors.
...hmm...there had to be something about the people, and about the button for the twelfth floor...but what was so special about the button for the twelfth floor? And for some reason, he can only hit it when those earlier conditions are me--]

Is the man too short to reach the twelfth floor button? He could have others push the button for him if that were the case, or he could extend his reach with the umbrella...which he should have with him when it's raining.
...r-right?

That you are correct, Mr Wright! It is exactly as you have answered, so wonderful job. [pulls out his handy dandy notebook and records the won amount of picarats next to Phoenix's name!] You have gotten that puzzle quite easily solved.

And Phoenix looks rather pleased with himself, grinning from ear to ear.] A-Ah, you think so? It's been a while since I've solved one of your puzzles, Professor.
