[The video turns on to what seems to be somewhere on Route 30, though not too far from the exit of Cherrygrove. The screen shakes around for a bit as the Professor is trying to place it on some log and aims it towards himself. It takes a few seconds, but when it is set properly, he nods and takes a seat on a rock. It's quite bothersome to

If the sun's all that'll fry him through the first door, he can just wait till it's dark out!
[Heather is QUITE experienced when it comes to finding creative ways in and out of places, so this particular kind of puzzle is a cinch to her.]
[And on another note, she also sort of notices that he's looking glum. ... And possibly nearby. But some people tend to want to be ALONE when they're all... broody and stuff, and she's not sure if he's one of those people or not.]

That is correct, Miss Mason! Once the source disappears, the first door's death trap disappears as well. Every puzzle has an answer.
[And now here's a total of 30 picarats for this lady over here. Combine with the original 25 picarats of the puzzle plus an extra 5 will make this a neat collection to your amount.]
Perhaps I should give a much harder one for you then. I have quite a lot memorized at this moment.

Harder?

"A woman was found dead in her hotel room and a lead detective was called in to investigate it. When he arrived to the room, he found a cassette tape. When he placed it in a stereo to listen to, immediately, the deceased woman on the tape announced that this was all suicide. The tape then ended with a single gunshot. The detective left the crime scene to announce that this woman did not die because of a suicide, but of a murder. The murderer was arrested a few days later and the case was solved. How did the detective know it was a murder?"
[30 picarats for this puzzle! Go for it, Masonator!]

Uhhh...
Did it have something to do with the angle of the shot?
Like, if she was shot clean in the back or something, she'd never have been able to do it herself.

Not at all. The way this woman was killed has no relevance to the answer. You may say she was hanged, stabbed, but it has nothing to do with the outcome.
[Picarats drop down to 27.]

[At first Heather looks stumped again, her brows furrowed and a frustrated little frown creeping onto her face. Grrr, she'd ASKED for a harder question, she couldn't just fail at solving it now! Her dignity wouldn't allow it!]
Um...

Hey, the detective found the cassette tape, right?
But if the shot was actually recorded on the cassette tape, it would've still been in the player while she shot herself! Since he had to put it back in to listen to it, that means someone took it out after she died! ... Right?

Haha, and you are correct! Another answer will be that the tape was fastfowarded to the beginning, but it then ties into your answer as well.
[A total of 32 picarats for you! Add that to your collection!]
Well done, Miss Mason. You solved that one quite like a detective yourself. I have quite a lot of riddles and puzzles such as these, so if you ever want to solve them, please do no hesitate to ask me.

[The bright expression turns into a great big grin. Is it obvious yet that Heather loves being right?]
Aw, yeah! Wooo!
[The grin remains when he goes on, and-- is that even a blush?! Heather's always been wishy-washy when it comes to whether or not she really wants to go further into investigative work than just the standard humdrum cases she helps Douglas with now, but that's a pretty big compliment!]
Heh, thanks, man. I'll definitely be up for more in the future!

And the Professor notices that Heather is pretty much dancing in glee. That's the feeling everyone should get after solving a puzzle. And the Professor is made to please others, well, other than trolling. So he's pretty happy to see Heather grin and blush]
Haha, that's the spirit! Perhaps I can interest you into one more puzzle before I stop bothering you, Miss Mason?

[Heather continues to grin-- she hasn't exactly been in top spirits herself lately, so this little convo's been good for the both of them.]
Go for it.

This one is a very classic situation puzzle back in London:
"A man walks into a bar, and asks the bartender for a drink of water. The bartender pulls out a gun, points it at the man, and cocks it. The man says "Thank you" and leaves. What happened? Yes and no questions may be asked in solving this."
[Another 30 picarats for this one!]

London, huh?
[Being an IGNUNT 'MERICAN, Heather's never been out of the States. She's curious, though, and the riddle gets a cocked brow from her at first.]
Hmm....
[A glass of water in a bar? That had to be significant somehow.]
Did the man look threatening?

[And you're catching on. That glass of water does place a part in this riddle.]
Not at all. The man was quite gentle-looking actually.
