The Profiler Fans 2013 Secret Santa Exchange
The holidays are fast approaching, which means it's time to sign-up for the Profiler Fans Secret Santa!
Many of you are familiar with Secret Santa, but for those who aren't, here's how it works. Copy and fill out the template in a comment to this post. At the sign-up deadline, you'll be matched with a recipient. Then using their template, you'll create a gift or gifts, depending on your time, inspiration, etc, which you'll post to the community in a separate post. This is pretty much like all the other gift exchanges out there, except you'll get something Profiler!
*** There is a change this year from previous years. empty_marrow and I have decided we're making the exchange fanfiction only. Legally we feel soundtracks are getting to be too risky a proposition. Graphics have attracted people outside of the fandom that would disappear without ever claiming the gifts regular posters had worked hard on, creating hurt feelings and drama. So for those reasons, we're simplifying things and going to fic only.
The Guidelines:
1) You are welcome to add on graphic gift such as icons, wallpapers, story art, etc; however your primary gift MUST be fic.
2) Crossover fics are fine, as long as they primarily Profiler and your recipient has expressed an interest in a crossover and has a familiarity with the fandom.
3) No one is expected to produce a novel length fic; however, please aim for a minimum of 1000 words total. If your word count is at 950, that's okay but 350 is another story. Drabbles and ficlets make excellent gifts and are welcome, just consider writing two or three for your person.
4) In case anyone is unable to complete their gift, back-ups are needed. Please let me know if you can pinch hit!
The Deadlines:
Sign-ups: The deadline for signing up is 11:59 p.m. EST Wednesday, November 27th - that will give you almost a month to make your gift. Four weeks should be plenty of time to create your presents. Extensions for sign-ups and gifts may be given if you contact me and we discuss it first :o)
Posting: People may post gifts starting Sunday, December 1st and the deadline for posting will be on Monday, December 23rd.
Posting will be moderated during December and all Secret Santa posts will be held until Wednesday, December 25th. That way everyone will get their gifts at the same time and we'll know ahead of time of any back ups are needed.
