Learning From The Masters
A while back, kosmickway asked if anyone knew whom the artist was in Learning From The Masters that the photo was based on with the man in the hood. I did some poking around and discovered that the piece was based on a painting by Vernon Lawhorn called Who #1, it is part of a series of which there were four paintings to date that I've been able to find out about. All of the Who Series feature the same hooded figure.
Although I wasn't able to locate Who #1 at the website, here is Who #3 on the bottom and a cap from Learning From The Masters on the top.
Although I haven't been able to verify it, I believe that Who #1 as in a photo version as shown on Profiler may have had a limited release as a fine art print in the mid 1990's.
