I practically screamed when I read the letter from my college...

Dear Prospective Member:
Deladgo's Omega Nu Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa welcomes you . Because you have demonstrated academic achievement by maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, you are eligible to become an member of Phi Theta Kappa. This Orginization is recognized as the International Honor Society of Two Year colleges. Membership in this organization is a distinguished a honor for our students.
To be eligible, You must have both a GPA of 3.0 or high and have completed mininium of twelve hours of college credit at Delagdo. This invitiation to become a part of the Omega Nu Chapter is being extended to you in hope that you will participate the many advantages and opportunities orffered its members. For example you will recieve a Phi Theta Kappa seal on your Diploma, be recoginzed as a Phi Theta Kappa Graduate at graduation, wear the Phi Theta Kappa, wear the Phi Theta Kappa gold stole and tassel at graduation, and gualify for selected scholarships at four year colleges and universities.
If interested, please try to attend an orientation session at which you will obtain details about our organization and information about the induction ceremony. You can bring your competed application and one time fee of $60 dollars payable to Phi Theta Kappa (check, cash, or money order) to the orientation. Orientation sessions will be held on the City Park Campus on Thursday, March 4th, in the lobby of Bldg.. 7, at 12 noon and then again at 4:30pm.
Should you be unable to attend one of the orientation session or if you have any questions about Phi Theta Kappa, Please contact Charles Bellone, Advisor, at 483-4067 between the hours of 11-12 or 2-3 Monday and Wedensday, or 3:30- 5:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 485-2436.
Deadline for application and fee is Monday, April 5th by 3pm. Once eligiblity is verfied, all inductees will be notified by telephone. Late applications will be accepted but not processed until after induction. Induction is at 7pm on Friday, April 16th, in the New Student Life Center on the second floor. Inductees please arrive by 6:15 to assemble for our entrance march.
If you have Leadership qualities, please inquire about a position as a Phi Theta Kappa officer.
Note: A student does not have to enroll in The Honors Program to be a member of Phi Theta Kappa.

I am very proud of my acheivements right now. It really made me feel better about myself lately considering my life is in such a big mess right now. My mom got really excited and called everyone in the family. hehehe! This is really a ticket for me to get to the best schools i want to transfer to.
I am sooo happy and proud of myself.
I worked so hard.
It is an big honor for me, as a deaf person.
Hearing college invited me!!!! *squeals* *giggles*
Sorry about the long entry but I am still excited! :-D
I am definitely applying for that membership and it's a good chance I will be accepted!!!
