Hey folks. Just thought I'd stick my head out long enough to show off a couple of things. I've been totally swamped with work this quarter, and haven't had much time for socializing, or tv, or... really much of anything besides work. But I've definitely learned more this quarter than in past ones. A lot of my time has been spent doing stuff for my Graphics class. Even though art and computers are two of my main interests, I've never really mixed the two, so I've been learning about graphics for the first time, and having a lot of fun with it.
One project from the class was to make an educational video on some topic we've learned about this quarter. Because the prof is cool, he's giving out Amazon gift certificates to the best submission. "Best submission" will be based on in-class voting, and also on YouTube rankings. That's right... I have a real live
video on YouTube. I'm honestly not sure what I think of that, but there it is. Anyway, since part of its score will be based on views, or ratings, or something like that, feel free to go and give it a 5-star rating! ;-) BTW, none of the cool post-production stuff is my doing... that's all thanks to my teammate Oscar. Who apparently really wants to win, so thanks to him, you can go
Digg it, too.
Anyway, while I'm not really sure what I think of the video thing, I am rather proud of the ray tracer I wrote. As ray tracers go, it's not too fancy. But I'm rather amazed with how little effort went in to producing such interesting pictures. So these I'm just putting here to show off :-)
Okay, back into my hole for another two weeks.
